this has to be a blow to the 'America is #1'ers' with dreams of a strong US dollar currency

also, the Republicans and their savings / investment accounts being wiped out arent happy about this prospect either (i'm guessing)

The consequences of decades of abuse to the system of credit in the United States are coming to a head and the gray clouds that loom over the skies of the dollar are growing bolder by the day and darker by the minute. The cold hard fact is I expect the U.S. dollar to ultimately collapse within 24 short months.

Right on the same page as:

Yeah.

And in 1996 they told us the stock market was headed for 30,000.

Dollar collapses = Collapse of the international market
The entire world will do everything within its power to maintain the dollar.

Also I think I understand your role on this site. You're the reactionary thread starter.

I'm pleased to report that our dollar was one of the world's best performing currencies in 2010 ... after Mongolia's!

The Aussie dollar was worth around 90 US cents this time last year, but as of today, is now buying $US1.02 - a rise in value of around 13 per cent.

Okay, so who is buying Iraqi dinars? Hey, there's nowhere for them to go but up!

Seriously though, gold is at $1431.60 and silver is at $30.91 even as we speak. I'm glad I bought a few gold coins when it was at $300, and I'm sorry I sold silver when it was at $10. I do still have some silver eagles that I thought I'd never see a profit on, and I'm not at all sure but what silver still has room for growth.

If the dollar collapses it won't matter to me because I don't have any. ;)

It very much in their dreams and not reality isn't it? LOL!

All I know is that it used to cost Americans only 0.78 USD to buy one of our dollars but now it is pretty much at parity. And it hasn't been the result of anything brilliant done by the Bank of Canada, or the government, or the national economy to increase our competitiveness or otherwise account for it.

I used to think that the next time the two currencies reached parity, they should be locked together.

With plutocrats having so much power in D.C., I'm not so sure any longer.

If it was any different than what you posted every single day it might be funny. As it is now, its a waste of a thread for your own egotistical masturbation.

Let's stay away from the personal commentary, OK?

Oh, please! I am 44, and have heard this "dire warning" since I was 24! I remember College Economic Professors, saying this same thing back then. Though America may not be the World Power it once was, it IS still needed, and the rest of the world won't allow us to crumble too quickly.

is it not the US always complaining about their strong dollar and how they can't compete ?
