USA mid-term elections 2014 -- VOTE --

That said, the map was stacked for Republicans this year as there were a lot more red states in play. 2016 is a good Senate map for Democrats with elections in a lot more blue states, so if they can do well again and get Hillary elected, they have a good chance to take back the Senate then too.
All through the cycle, I've likened this year's Senate race (for the Democrats) as something like trying to walk, unassisted, against the brutal winds in the eyewall of a Category 5 hurricane.

So, now, the Republicans completely walk away, scot-free but NOT Scott-free (e.g. Wisconsin governor), entirely held to no account whatsoever for electioneering cheating, ill will, taxing the poor into destitution, etc.

Now all they have to do is eliminate the filibuster in The Senate, and change how electoral votes are counted (in the states they want to change, with incumbent Governors winning), to make the takeover absolute, unconditional, and permanent.

The United States is swirling down the toilet.

^ Nonsense, nothing is permanent. 2016 still favors the Democrats at this point. They would have to seriously fuck things up to get this result again.

It favors the Democrats, unless the Republican-run states start counting electoral votes BY CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT, as Maine and Nebraska already do. (Therefore, the precedent for this change exists.) Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin - and maybe even Illinois? - I haven't heard my state's results for Congress - could decide to change this law, which would dilute the electoral votes from these states. And...FLORIDA??? There's talk about it in Michigan.

They won't change states like Texas and West Virginia, so those electoral votes will still be 100% Republican.

There's no precedent for widespread changes in the electoral vote apportionment across multiple states in a short period of time. Several states totally controlled by Republicans floated that idea prior to 2012 and they were not able to get anything on that in any of them. There is a lot of resistance to changing that due to the historical continuity.

About the only chance for that is the national popular vote compact which has stalled since the red states have not expressed much interest.

This was a tough night but anyone who was a realist knew this was going to happen.

Now that the GOP has control of both houses I expect the President’s first order of business today will be to get a brand new veto stamp. The GOP has shot down everything the President tried to do and now it will be his turn. I also expect more executive actions starting with immigration reform which will send the GOP into an Impeachment frenzy which they will believe will be easier to accomplish with control of both houses. It should be a very interesting next two years.

If Obama does those things he will go down in history as one of the worst Presidents. He is well on his way. If he cooperates with the Republicans he can still look good. One of the few things of which Clinton does boast is welfare reform, when he cooperated with his Republican Congress, however reluctantly.

Ha ha the limber dicks and sagging tits elect crook chief goon Rick Scott for Gov in Florida again imagine that! Spent over 13 million of his own bucks for a gig that pays less then 200 K a yr and the blue hairs and inbred rednecks think he is a cool guy as they live in their trailer trash or upscale union pension villages middle class retreat from the midwest.

Your agism is a violation of the forum rules. If someone said similar things about the democrat electorate, he would be accused of racism.

We about to be at another stand still until 2016. Obama may as well get his Veto pen inked up because they about the throw some shit his way lol.

We have been at a stand still already. That is a significant factor in why the public is voting for 'change'. The question is are the Republicans and the Democrats as a minority up to taking note and actually doing some real work on capital hill.

You don't have to be white or black to have sagging tits or a limber dick, be trailer trash, or even elderly retired on a union pension living in the Villages.
This is a very correct observation on who elected this thief 2 times in a row. It goes without saying that the top 1% would vote for him as he protects them but for the rest of the state they are shooting themselves in the foot as the past 4 yrs proves.

Your nasty insults of the elderly are a violation. If anyone made equally nasty comments about the minorities who are the democrat base, it would be considered racist. Ageism, like racism is a violation.

Why should Democrats reward the Republicans who said no to anything Democrats suggested by working with them.

He should cooperate with the people that refused to do the same for him?
How about a no to that.

Then, as I said, he must go down in history as one of the worst. He will not get another shot at a democrat Congress.
