Personally I don't, but a Bi friend of mine had it done and he said there was nothing to it. It is basically an out-patient procedure and you should be able to return home immediately after the procedure and go to work the next day. If you have a really physical-type strenuous job, they may ask you to wait 3 days or so before returning to work. Minor bruising/swelling is common. Your doctor will discuss that with you. You may have to wear a jock strap for a couple days. After the procedure is complete, you will still ejaculate semen as usual (and it will look like it always has), but it will contain no sperm. Sperm will not longer be able to pass to the penis and will be absorbed by the body and dissipated. He said you should continue to use contraception until at least 2 sperm count tests come back negative. (Consult with your doctor) Sperm count gradually decreases after about 3 months, then sperm is no longer present in the semen. Most men experience no problem with the procedure. You can have sex again in about a week and there is no effect on sexual desire.
A vasectomy makes a man permanently sterile. As I understand it, there is a reversal procedure but it is very expensive ($7000-$35,000) and often has mixed results but I don't know much about it. I'm not a doctor.
