Vaseline

Hey guys,

This is about Lube. I really don't feel like going out and buying Lube so I was wondering, is regular Vaseline okay to use for fingering (you know, the one that takes literally forever to wash off your hands). It says nothing about only external use on the container, so I have no idea. Anybody know?

Why would you want to use it - there are so many other better choices - do you have any kind of lotions - hand, baby....
But yes - it works and it these are all safe to use as far as my experiences.

Vaseline is made with "petroleum" jelly, which isn't something you want up your arse on a regular basis, although vaseline reminds me of my first experiences and is okay to use for the bum for "special" occasions.

Check the ingredients, anything that says "petro" is not good for the bootie. If you really, really need to finger yourself, use it THIS TIME, but look for some other things to lube you up.

I like KY jelly now.

Its horribly messy! I would say use it if you want but not all the time. Invest is some Astroglide. Its a great product and sponsers several gay events out here in Vegas. Its a little pricey, but if used wisely, a little goes a long way.....

I use vaseline for fingering myself. I guess it's OK if you got nothing else to use...but just use a little bit. The first time I used it, I was in the shower, and it took FOREVER to clean up, as it was clogging the drain.

Vaseline was the lube of choice when I was a teenager getting fucked by the boys in the neighborhood...didn't know anything about KY or Astroglide, but now I know better.

Use vaseline in a pinch, but go for KY or something similar. Most drug store chains even have their own 'generics'.

Vaseline is safe on your ass. I wouldn't recommend it because it's VERY difficult to clean up. If vaseline wasn't safe for your ass, hospitals wouldn't have used it for decades when taking rectal temps on infants before the digital age.
When you say you don't feel like going out and buying lube are you saying this out of embarassment or just out of laziness? I suggest you get to your locate Rite Aid or CVS and just buy some lubricant. You want to make the experience nice for yourself so spend the money and take the time.

Back in the day, we preferred Crisco (or any vegetable shortening) to Vaseline. It was easier to clean up, readily available and was much less messy than vaseline.

Vaseline has always been recommended by doctors for application during any minor trauma to the anus as far as I've experienced. When I had dissentary as a kid, the doctor suggested application of Vaseline to the anus to stave off chaffing.

But yeah, it'll dissolve condoms, so it's a no-no for safe sex.

Vaseline is my fave lube -because- it's so slippery greasy messy -- when I have the time for a marathon wank it's what I'll reach for over just about anything -- oil or water based. Vaseline was my choice back in early days of jo. We always had jar in the house for special occiaions. Today into Wet. ID and KY as lubes for jo. Also make sure using condoms use water base lubes.
