Vegas Baby!!!

Ahh bless.. I like swimming.

Swimming? Who said you'll be swimming?! I'll be pushing your head underwater at given intervals so you choke on the water. You DID ask for a lynching, after all!

Say Stacy, "IF" I do decide to go...are we gonna plan carpooling and such?

OK, I'm already down for San Antonio, but job related stuff may scotch that...

If so, I'd be a definite maybe for Vegas...

I'd love to see all those I already know and all the new attendees as well!

Wave. Being one of the planners for this meet, and personally having no car, not even a drivers license, nor a desire to drive. I have stressed to Stacy, and she agrees that the Meet organized events should remain on the strip for convenience.

I do not foresee a reason one would need to rent a car on this trip as there is transportation readily available from the airport to the strip for about $6-$8 once you get off the plane. And as it's only 5 miles from the strip and I will be arriving at 9 am I thought I would just walk from LAS to the hotel to stretch my legs :)

We are currently looking into a variety of things to do saturday during the day as a Meet organized activity. This might be a show, walking excursion, or something completely off the wall. But if we choose something that requires transportation rest assured we WILL plan accordingly for that.

In short: I would not worry about renting a car for one minute as you will probably not use it.

Hey Orion, yeah sorry for not making it clear earlier! I meant that for those of us in SoCal and if we didn't want to fly to Vegas (since it's only about 4 hours), if we could possibly save on expenses if we drove out together. But thanks for looking out :D

I'm coming via my magic carpet.
What! Can you take me along too?! PLEASE?! I want to ride a magic carpet!

I am almost definitely driving out to Vegas so we can work that out if you need. "Road Trip!"

Like Orion said, once we get to Vegas there won't be a need for a car :)

Woohoo, road trip! You can tell me stories, or I can just radio surf and sing along to some of the songs! Or or....we'll come up with something!

Oh I just set myself up for that! ..ummm...err......I'll say I'm an almost yes.

...........................

...........................

......oh hell, what have I got to lose? I'll only be winning! (well, maybe not in terms of gambling...) Ok then Stacy, "Yes I'll be there"!

If I could go I would. If I have classes in the fall it's going to be impossible.

Even if I am free for that weekend it's highly doubtful I'll have the disposable income for it.

Getting to San Antonio is going to be a stretch as it is.

Awww, well maybe, who knows! By then you might have some spare cash lying around or something. It'd be fun!

And Stacy, I uh...oh nevermind, I'll just PM you. ;)

I am sorry I could not stop myself

I'm going to be staying at New York, New York this week (Tuesday night). I'll see if I can snap some pics and gather up other info. I would note that it was the cheapest hotel on the strip when the company's travel agent checked -- $49 per night!

I'll try to leave a boy on each of your pillows so when you check in for the meet he's ready! LOL!

I stayed at 'New York' a couple of years ago.

It's a fairly nice hotel. Certainly a good value, and right in the heart of the strip. It has a very large and confusing layout, I think you could stay there for a month and still not figure out where everything is, but then again knowing where *your* room is is all that's important.

The lobby and 'common areas' are a trip. With a fake blue sky above and 'pavement' below, and lots of storefronts and restaurants (and of course, casinos) it looks like you are outside, strolling around a New York neighborhood.

The hotel is an attraction in and of itself, and unfortunately that leads to a LOT of people milling around all the time. It's shoulder to shoulder crowded morning, noon and night. At least it was when I was there, and elevator service to your room can be painfully slow at times.

There's a monorail that runs between the hotel, down to the Luxor and back to...um, I forget, another hotel !oops! which is really convenient. You'll be amazed just how much walking is involved in a Vegas trip. All the buildings are so large that it throws off your perception. Something that looks like it's 'right across the street' is actually a 20 min walk.

Oh, and expect lots and lots of screaming kiddies, too. With the roller coaster and a huge arcade and indoor rides (I think) it attracts a lot of families.

Still, there's potential for a *fabulous* time around every corner.

Hey, it's Vegas.

Can I tag along? I can get us there ins 3.25 hours promise...plus I can get the room!

I'll be sure to bring paddles, whips, and floggers to take care of any little brats running around vegas...
Oooh oooh, I'm a little brat! And I need discipline!

YOU HAVE TO GO.

Sorry was that too loud :D

I'm sorry Stacy, I couldn't hear you! What was that again? :p

And yes, accorn you BETTER come along or I'll go hunt you down!

Just stayed at the New York, New York last night; snapped some photos and stayed on the 11th floor of the "New Yorker" tower. I looked out the window and saw the roller coaster going up to the first drop!

Had the best steak dinner I have had, perhaps ever, at Gallagher's. I laugh because it cost more than my room did for the night!

Plus the bartender was very cute and friendly at the restaurant; headed to Providence, RI now. I think I was stupid for trying to book all my flights and travel for one week...Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Rhode Island....blah!

^Sin city will never be the same.

I thought Vegas was all mobsters and hookers.

It's mostly hookers. ;) Hookers that will walk right up to you in the middle of a casino and grab your crotch and say, "I can make that feel better for you, baby...."

I was amazed how brazen they were.

I was also amazed that I briefly considered it. ;)

Hooker??? I would have never asked for money--damn-it. :grrr:

I'm going to try my hardest to make this one

STL was fantastic and I'd love to do it all over again (and spend less time on the barstool)

Sin City here I come

What happens in Vegas...

^Well, if you choose to spend time on a barstool, make sure there's one open next to you....

Yeah! M4P might join us!

Wow...

I talked to my dad about this.

And I might actually be able to go. I am not sure I will go with him though.

I might go with some friends of mine. I just need to talk to them about it more. But they are up for it.
