Yep!!!

Now that they have the iPhone -- they have STEPPED UP THEIR GAME to compete with AT&T for WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!

They sent me the email saying I could buy the iPhone a week early -- and I even followed the link to make sure that I qualified...

Then, when the day came -- I tried to place the order -- but it didn't look right -- so I called them...

They said -- OH, your upgrade doesn't qualify for the EARLY purchase -- you have to wait until the 10th...

Well -- why didn't the tell me that when I went to check and see if I QUALIFIED for the early purchase???

A week is really no big deal to me -- but the lady was such a bitch -- that I don't even think I want the phone now -- I'll just keep my droid and look to find a company that offers the coverage map that I need...

TODAY -- a friend of mine was flying down to Brazil for a month (like he does every year for Carnival) -- and he called verizon to have his cell phone suspended for a month -- it used to cost him a $5 fee -- Verizon told him that they could suspend it IMMEDIATELY for $15 but not TOMORROW for $5 like they always had before...

And don't get me started on my Droid X -- which I paid $200 for -- I'm on my THIRD ONE in 2 1/2 months -- AT LEAST verizon keeps REPLACING it for me; although I'm not sure why they wouldn't just replace it with the iPhone...

Their NEW MOTTO should be "We are the NO YOU CAN'T network"...

:(:(:(

I have a simple cell phone. It makes and receives calls. That's all. Verizon is my carrier. If I didn't need a land line because of my DSL service, I would cancel it. Everyone has to be so "connected". I don't get it.

i have no issues with my phone, or with verizon at the moment.

Swerve: what happened to your droid X that is has had to be replaced 3 times? i have a droid x and havent had any issues with it. did they replace it with a new one or a refurbished one? because if they keep sending you refurbished ones you can talk to someone about getting a brand new phone.

The first one kept turning itself off and then back on again -- even in the middle of conversations... :(

The second one wouldn't boot -- it stuck on the Motorola symbol...

And, well, like I said this one has worked for 3 weeks now!!!

All I know is that I had Verizon service in the middle of the Idaho wilderness over the summer, and my friend with AT&T had squat. Also, Verizon has better service than AT&T in EVERY major city in America according to Consumer Reports. Of course all TeleComs are big evil corporations, but Verizon has always struck me as a much more reliable big evil corporation than AT&T :)

I'll be happy to buy the iPhone from them in a few months once the kinks get worked out.

I'm with Verizon, and have great service. I REALLY Miss AT&T though, because sometimes the Verizon company seems kinda, idk "Stuck Up?" I had phone issues I had the LG Voyager 1000 I think, and I had to have 3 or 4 replacements because over time it would turn off on its own, have glitches, drop calls, etc. They kept insisting that new replacements be sent. I finally had it after the 3rd and said WTF it's OBVIOUSLY a bad model. The lady said its a very popular phone and most are happy with it. Then 5 minutes later a girl walks in with the SAME complaint as me, SAME PHONE. It didn't look to good on Verizon and the other customer PROVED my point. All I asked them to do was send a different model with the same features, free of charge as the shitty phone is not my fault, and I'm paying THEM to give me service.

No, Swerve, as much as I love you, and I do, I have to take issue.

CRICKET is hands down the worst service ever, and Customer Service isn't even an option they provide their clients.

Have to confess I used them this last year, and I vow to go without a phone before I ever use them again.

Have Verizon now. Not great, but at least better than the worst.

A CRICKET is WINNING a RACE to the BOTTOM???

:lol::lol::lol:

That's why I'm CURRENTLY STUCK with them...

I drive WAY TOO MANY miles out in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE in the Pacific Northwest -- and no one even comes CLOSE in terms of coverage...

:(:(:(

Verizon does not believe its network can handle the influx of new iPhone users, so it will be throttling the data speeds of the heaviest users to free up bandwidth.

What that means is unclear, as Verizon refuses to define "heavy user." But just because you pay extra for unlimited data on your plan does not mean you will get unlimited data.

That's gonna upset some people a lot.

Licks iPhone 4 on AT&T network oh yeah it tastes like ass but I am glad I got one. AT&T lied to me they said I could get 1gb data plan but that shit doesn't exist now I only see 200MB plan or 2GB plan. I was so close to switching to verizon but now won't after reading this thread. lol my iPhone doesn't auto correct verizon's name with a capital V must be a mistake.

i just went in to get my upgrade a few days ago at verizon...i have never had such great customer service experience in my entire life...first the guy talked me out of getting the iphone 4 by comparing it to the droid x. i really am not a big tech guy but he explained everything to me in layman's terms.

the droid x was about 30-50 dollars more but when i went up to the register to buy my phone the guy knocked 50 dollars off the phone and accessories i bought for it. really great service, he gave me his personal email and facebook page for any questions i had about droid apps and all that.. really happy with my service.

To all JUBers on this thread: thanks for all the info. :=D:
Does anyone have U.S. Cellular? My ATT contract just ran out and I'm exploring my options. Verizon came in second in the Consumer Reports critique but U.S. Cellular made first. I've had ATT for a long time, but it appears that the dropouts are occurring more frequently than ever.

My friend is also having problems with Verizon right now...Its like the iphone gave them a reason not to give a fuck anymore...Lol I'll stick with T mobile. I haven't had one problem in 4 years.

I don't really get your story. I work for AT&T so it may be different, but there's really no such thing as a free early upgrade. Your upgrade date is your upgrade date. If you would like to pay more for the early upgrade, that's on you. You may have been qualified for the early upgrade, but you would still have to pay to get the phone early. And if the week wait wasn't a big deal, why are you making it one? What did the representative you spoke to do that was so bitchy besides clarify what the e-mail didn't? Not break her back to give you your way? Also, as for your whole wanting your Droid replaced for an iPhone, don't expect that to happen if you go to AT&T. If you're having your phone replaced through warranty or insurance, your going to receive like model equipment. You're not going to get a new phone just because you don't like your current one (unless you buy the iPhone yourself that is).

Both phones are pretty shitty, tbh. The iPhone is notorious for poor reception, and Droids are known to be pretty faulty devices in general, as displayed by the OP. The rep you spoke with in the store only wanted you to go with the Droid so he would get a higher incentive. Sad, but true. You should have gone with BlackBerry.

You should have gone with BlackBerry.

Is that why everyone that works in cell phone stores has a BlackBerry...

As far as your other post -- it is QUITE complicated...

My partner and I own a small business and we have multiple lines/accounts that all tie into one bill from Verizon...

One of the lines is ELIGIBLE for an upgrade -- and Verizon OFFERED their EXISTING customers an EARLY PURCHASE deal...

Gosh, nevermind -- it is REALLY complicated and I don't feel like going over it again...

I personally don't like using the "B" word -- but I felt that it fit this scenario (sorry if it offended anyone) -- And even though she was rude and arrogant with me, I was NICE to her...
