Video driver update

I wanted to get the latest drivers from Intel since my video card is a Intel HD graphics but when I auto detect and see if I have the latest this is what I get.

Does this mean that I can't use the drivers from Intel and I can only use drivers from Sony to update my video card?

All I can say that Sony esupport website shows that my drivers are up to date and are the latest so I assume that means I have the best drivers right now for my notebook right?

It looks like that Intel drivers are different from mine according to Intel so I guess I can't use the drivers from Intel and only can use drivers from Sony.

I have been updating drivers and software that came with my computer from Sony and downloaded all of the latest Windows updates also.

My question is that are you suppose to only use OEM drivers on Sony or other branded computers? According to Intel they are saying that to use Sony drivers to update the video card since they are customized.

If you need to find out if your drivers are all good to go, download Driver Genius Professional and it should get what you need.

Well all of my current drivers are working but I just wondered that if it's ok to use generic drivers even Intel says to use OEM driver only like from Sony since my laptop is from Sony.

When I recover my computer system it installs all of the drivers, softwares, OS, etc and makes my laptop like new again so it's really easy to set up since I don't really have to search for drivers. Since my laptop is only a year old the recovery is on my hard drive so there is no CDs. Only thing I need to do is after I recover my system to like new I have to download the latest drivers from Sony esupport and download all of the Windows updates to make my system current since the time when this laptop was made it was current but now it's not current unless I update it.

I have been using Sonys update program since then it auto detects drivers and gets the latest from Sony. I do even goto that link I showed you guys to download the latest updates for software that is loaded on my computer.

But my question is that as I asked before is it totaly ok to use generic drivers for my video card or sound card? Or am I suppose to only use OEM drivers that Sony provides for the model of my laptop?

If the graphics card is integrated into the laptop then you are suppose to use the drivers that SONY provides. If your graphics card has been modified or if you put one into your laptop that did not originally come with the laptop, then it is best to download specific drivers for optimal experience.

It sounds as though your have an integrated graphics card (it came with the laptop) and so the drivers you have now and any future update from the updating software should be fine.

The generic drivers are probably the default drivers that your computer needs. The only way to tell if your computer needs something more is to get something that can scan your computer for driver updates, such as Driver Genius Professional or other programs.

Well the reason why I was interested in using the generic drivers is since it seems like the driver made by Intel is newer and I heard some people say that newer drivers give more performance for like games and also have more bug fixes. But if it's best to use OEM drivers then I will just use the latest from Sony.

Only problem is that since Intel is an generic driver and not customized for my laptop I don't know if it will run correctly. I might have some problems if I use generic drivers but I don't know forsure if I will have problems. It's really interesting that Sony changes the generic drivers to make it work for my laptop since I would think it would be easier to just use generic drivers but maybe my laptops video card is not made exactly the same as normal Intel HD graphics card.


But if you guys think that I should use OEM drivers since they are made for my notebook then I will just use the lastest drivers from Sony esupport website basicly the link I showed you guys since that is the notebook I have now.

I'd go for the latest Intel update shown as available in your first link.
What's the worst that can happen?
You won't LOSE your display in any case as there will still be hardware support to get A display.
I don't know if Intel is as smart as Nvidea........ .......Nvidea won't let you install incorrect drivers unless you force them.

It appears the latest VIDEO DRIVE UPDATE resolves only a very specific issue so may not be worth it?

Well I think they have fixed more problems than just one but they just listed the major fix that did but didn't write everything down they fixed. Sony is a good company so I would think they update alot of things in there drivers than just one. Probley if they listed all of them it would be a long page of stuff.


But I just wonder if I' am still suppose to use OEM since according to Intel my driver is customized and isn't a normal generic driver.

I did use those programs you guys listed and the Driver Genius Professional did show alot of drivers that needed to be updated but it looks like it costs money to update it. But the thing is that the strange part is that according to Sony my drivers are up to date since normaly my Vaio update program updates drivers and software to the latest. I wonder if it's thinking that I can use generic drivers since my laptop is customized so I don't think I can use generic drivers. But I don't know why it says that I had drivers that needed updates.


Also the other program Belarc advisor just showed me my system specs so it didn't really tell me about driver updates I needed if I did need it.

I would tell you to learn to use keygens/cracks/patches/fixes but this would go against the ever so ethical and intellectual way of JUB. But what the hell would I know ANYTHING about ethics...use keygens for free programs. I promise you wont go to hell for doing so.
