Video by Noah Kalina, video montage of photographs he took of himself everyday for six years (Great piano music!) :

Another site with the same video, plus some of his comments:

I remember seeing his website a few years ago, and looking at hundreds of photographs he'd taken of himself by holding a camera at arm's length. His account has been disabled.

Here's a cached copy of his opening page:

And the "skeletal" cache of his photograph page. They're no longer there now, but you get the idea of what used to be there...

thats astoundingly, excellently, um...awesome. Thanks, Noah, for your very moving artwork, and thank YOU, ned, for sharing the link here.

It makes me dizzy watching it... His hair movements make it seem like he's flying and the room almost looks like it's spinning behind him... The music is the perfect choice for the video.

I liked his comment on the Vimeo site that he hopes to continue doing it until death, and that he wants someone to photograph him in the box.

And then the next comment from someone: "I'll keep a red clown nose in my pocket just in case."

I think it'd be neat to see him grow a moustache and a beard...

You can clearly see how his face ages if you jump from the beginning to near the end. Very interesting.

... and the music... it's great, but it sounds deathly... like he's headed straight for the grave... which I guess is what he plans on showing us eventually, heh.

It's so odd. Watching this guy essentially "standing still" in the same spot for six years makes me reflect on my own life. It's as if he never ventured out or nothing has really changed except it's six years later. Wouldn't it be great if in one frame he'd be standing in a concert arena or at his book signing or in front of his new home. Instead he's standing in the same place, he hasn't moved and nothing has changed. If we stand still we will never accomplish our dreams. Get up, go out and live.

maybe its just me but I found that to be incredibly profound and beautiful. Says so much about how fragile human life is. Im moved to tears. The phenomenal music helped too.

It's like you took the words right out of my mouth.
I was also intrigued by how his facial expression almost stayed the same throughout the whole video. His whole world changing around him, yet he stays... the same...

Wow. Did anyone else notice how incredibly sad his eyes looked in almost all those pictures? And the shadows under his eyes became so big they looked like bruises. A very interesting commentary--without words!--on humanity.

The music was beautiful.

I'd be more impressed if someone else didn't beat him to it.

That was cool. I had to stop watching partway through, though. It was hurting my head. I'll try again later, perhaps.

I found when I watched it that I kept getting stuck just watching his eyes.. I dunno why it was just like that was the only thing that stayed the same.

Agree with whoever earlier found it profound. I loved the music too! Definitely art.
