Hi! I want to convert vidoes so I can watch them on my BlackBerry Storm and I have been advised to use the software SUPER (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html) which will convert it to the perfect settings, however when I open it up I get the following message saying I do not meet the requirements:

Available RAM :: Required: 176MB :: Found: 74MB [PROBLEM]

How do I incease my available RAM? Is there a way?

The settings that I need to convert the videos to are the following:

Output containter: mp4
Video codec: MPEG-4
Audio codec: AAC-LC

Video Scale Size:
If I use 4:3 then I want 480 x 360
If I use 16:9 then I want 480 x 270
1:1 Aspect Ratio
Frame/sec = 25
Video bitrate: 1248kbps

Audio:
Bitrate: 64kbps
Sampling Freq: 44100

If any of you have any suggestions on any program that I could use and input these settings into, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks

are you trying to run super on your blackberry? 74 mb ram is REALLY low, any computer should have more than that.

Best way to increase RAM is to plug more in. In this case the specs of your computer might be handy. VLC player can also export videos.

Edit: Corny he is trying to run super on his computer not his blackberry. The memory really is very low. Try quitting a few progs then try running super.

No, I am trying to run SUPER on my computer, convert the video files and then drop them into my BlackBerry. Yeah, I thought that 74MB RAM is really low; where can I find how much RAM I actually have...?

Microdoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

Dell Dimension 8300
Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
2.99GHz, 512 MB of RAM

Why has my RAM dropped to "Found 74BM"?

that's the available ram. 512 is really low for a 3ghz machine, you should consider upgrading that.

you can try to end all kinds of other applications that you are running. like browser, virus scanner, firewall and so on. press ctrl+alt + delete and go to the list of processes in the task manager. there you can sort them by ram usage.

God, I really hate being so computer illiterate.

OK, I should upgrade my RAM; do I just go into a PC Store and ask?

If I have 512MB of available RAM then how come, when I try to convert videos using SUPER I get that error message saying that 176MB of required RAM but they can only find 74MB of available RAM? That doesn't seem right.

I have 2 gigabytes of ram and currently around 1 gb available (but some stuff running atm). applications and windows tend to use a lot of run. did you try what i said above?

^ yeah that will work great for a self confessed computer illiterate. I have a vague clue what I am doing and at first glance my head spins reading that. I guess you are just trying to be clever ;)

Well what do you expect me to say? smart arse! :)

Roll on Noel's return!

I've never used it myself, but I've heard good things about handbrake.

-T.

Handbrake is the BEST DVD ripper tool I've ever used.

DVD Enrypter was okay. Rat DVD or whatever sucked.

But with Handbrake if you have a dual layered dvd you can choose two audio's and do subtitles as well.

You can't turn subtitles off once they are on the video though. Which kinda sucks but that's apple that is restricting that not the program. You also get the chapter select thing which is pretty good.

Plus it has pre-made selections. Like PSP, AVI, Quicktime, iPhone, and etc.

And you can change the video size and quality your self if need be. It only works for DVD's though.

hi i have the same probleme try desinstallet super then unstal
if it doesn't work try psp9 it's a great software
