Vinyl Records: Do you still Buy / Listen to them...?

I have never owned a vinyl record, never had a phonograph. I do have 2 cassettes someone gave me though but no casette player either!

I have to answer yes, resoundingly, in all respects.

My collection is massive, covering all speeds of vinyl/records, including 78's. No cylinders, though. I have supplied a few of the songs played on the Dr. Demento Show over the years.

I got a record player for Christmas when I was fourteen and have been buying music on vinyl ever since. I don't even buy cds anymore. Music just sounds more real on vinyl. I love the crackling sound.

Alot of indie bands release stuff on vinyl, as well as some more mainstream acts. I remember seeing Gwen Stefani's first album on vinyl at a record store.

I do think it's sad though that most people my age have never seen a record, much less listened to one.

^ Take comfort in the fact that there's another teen who listens to vinyls here!

My mum gave me her old LP player a year or so ago, and all her Led Zep/Thin Lizzy along with it.
Actually, I wonder if she has some Bowie? I like Bowie!

I buy loads of Vinyls nowadays. I have a couple of nice fairly Ltd Ed ones.
Virgin has a vinyl section, so I've got a Mastodon single, which is my newest.

One thing which sounds incredible is acoustic music. I've got a Bright Eyes single on vinyl... there's nothing better than just sitting back with the vinyl player on, just dozing to some acoustic stuff. I want more, dammit!

No, I haven't heard an actual vinyl record in years...it's difficult to find a turntable these days. However, I go to records stores from time to time to buy old albums (from the 80s and early 90s mostly) with cool covers so that I can frame and display them.

I have about 3 boxes full of them, but I don't have a record player. I broke mine in one of my moves and never bought another one. On the other hand I do have a victrola which I play some classical music on. It cracks up my friends everytime they come over....
