I've got a new vista machine, and it has IE8. When I've posted a message on the forum in a thread and hit submit, the post appears in the thread fine, however, I notice a spelling error or thought of something else to say and so I use the 20 minute window to make corrections/additions.

On my previous XP machine, hitting the edit button in my message would allow me to edit the post in situ (that is, in the message in the thread), but now in IE8 and vista, when I use the edit button on JUB, the message converts in to an editing box but I can't write in it as IE8 then takes me onto the more complex fully gadgeted edit box in a page/tab of its own.

This is annoying because it takes some time before it appears for me to be able to edit, it used to be quicker the old way.

Is anyone else having this problem? And more importantly, can I get get IE8 not to do that?

TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST

Will try the edit function after this is posted.......

EDIT: OK.......IE8 in XP fully updated and it works fine.
You MIGHT try enabling the compatibility mode........although I'm doing this without that mode.
An alternative is uninstall version 8, reboot and do a fresh install.

I use Opera 10 for THIS....... ;)

hey star,

i'm no computer guru but when i got my new set up it was with vista. nothing but trouble. someone here at jub said to forget ie and go to firefox. i did and have been happy with it once i got used to the differences.

upstairs in the den my other set up is still xp and ie8 seems fine...i guess vista just doesn't like ie. personally cant wait for 7 to hit the streets, my computer nerd was one of the ones that got to test it and he raves, i mean raves about it compared to vista. well, for what its worth, thats been my experience.

A leaflet with the new machine says that I can upgrade for free to Windows 7. Such is the faith the manufacturer placed on Vista.....

^^ it's typical when computers are sold nearing the release of a new OS version.

I'm using Vista and IE 8

I don't find it to be a problem since I don't know what you're talking about with other OS

It takes a couple seconds for the box to appear, that's all
