Vista slower than XP at start-up, shutdown, gripe users

If this is true, why is it that each new Mac OSX release is faster even though their are more features?

I haven't noticed that Vista is any slower. That said, OS X was painfully slower than OS 9 when it was first released. It was just barely usable. Not to mention it was incompatible with virtually everything, there were no drivers for anything, virtually no programs would run either. I would expect that Vista will evolve over the years, just as OS X has.

Okay -- I am switching to MAC -- I am done with Windows XP and any subsequent versions ](*,) -- relationship over......:-({|=

Just make sure you switch back to Windows when Apple decides to switch the Mac OS code again, cause if the transition from OS 9 to OS X is any indication, it will be the most painful experience you've ever had with computers. ;)

OS 10.2 was the first version without bug reports going automatically to Apple, thus slowing things down. This made it quite usable and this is when I added OSX. My primary app ran in 9 and I had them both running at the same time, so the transition was seamless. I was looking at system 9 the other day and I don't even remember how it works.

But seriously - I find Vista to be much faster starting up and shutting down. I find it to be more robust and more helpful - everything from copying and moving files to the layout of the Explorer contents - I love it and I'm not just saying that to be disagreeable.

I love Vista but I agree that it's slower starting up and shutting down, and it can't be because of my computers specs because they're as top of the line as you can get without going the Alienware route.

The transition was hardly seamless for the majority of users. I still remember waiting and waiting for OS X to laid, and then waiting and waiting some more for Classic to load on top of that. It was definitely less seamless than the transition from XP to Vista. And considering we're essentially on what is X.0 of Vista, and considering how much more developed the first release of Vista is than the first release of OS X was, I'd say we're off to a better start already. Mac fanatics, and even Apple, love to point out how wonderful OS X is now (what, 5 releases later?), but always like to forget how underdeveloped and unsupported it was when first released, as with all new major operating systems.

I've found it to be a little too helpful. And MS has gone and reorganized things, seemingly just for the fuck of it. If I want to get into my network connection and configure the TCP/IP settings, it now takes at least 6 clicks, where as I coule previously do it in 2. I find Vista more stable than XP, and generally slicker looking, but they've made a lot of tasks take longer, and made them harder to find, seemingly for the hell of it. To make things seem different.

I miss my old Control Panel.

My transition nto X was painless...and it was maybe a little tiny bit slower at first but 10 (X) times more awesome. Vista is definitely slower and is basically a somewhat prettier version of XP with everything moved around. It has 'designed by committee" written all over it. And what Cozmik said.

I haven't tried Vista yet and I don't think I will. I won't spend $160 just for "trying" an OS. I'm perfectly happy with openSUSE Linux 10.2.

Given Vista's requirements, I would be very surprised if it wasn't slower than XP on the same configuration. I've heard, too, that its hardware compatibility is no better than Linux's (and I agree, that's one of Linux's weak points).

Regarding Mac OS X, I haven't tried it either (I'm stuck with OS 8.1 68k) but the UNIX underpinnings seem attractive to me. And I look the Aqua theme too... it's still better than Windows Aero.

I've noticed that it is really slow to load and shut down compared to Windows XP

I find startup is faster, but shutdown is slower. But I just use sleep/hibernate anyways so its never really an issue.

What tastes better? A cock from a Mac user or a cock from a Windows user?

Still to many mac lovers here ;) I got Vista Basic very recently and its quicker and everything I have apart form DivX Player and DVD Flick work with it! But yeah its alot faster than my old XP computer.

Oh and saying that. Does anyone know how to get avi files onto dvd. I used to use DVD Flick to code them then use Nero to recode and put on disk. But now my DVD Flick doesnt work was wondering if anyone knows of any that work?

** places head in hands and weeps and laughs ***

You've got too much time on your hands lad.

So what's your answer?

:)

I wouldn't know because the Mac cock cummed so fast I didn't even touch the cock head while the Vista cock was so slow that it took it's time to cum in my mouth.
