To be fair, he didn't really "come out of nowhere". He acheived enough success on the standup comedy circuit to garner a spot on Comedy Central's Premium Blend, followed by his own hour long special and CD release. From there, he got some MAJOR popularity, mostly from high schoolers, AKA Will Ferrel fans, who thought if you yelled something loud enough it'd be funny. Then he got REALLY annoying, and now people who liked him at first are even wondering why.

Question: What's the huge beef with Steve Carrel? The only thing I've seen that he's awful in is Evan Almighty (I don't like to talk about that experience). Normally I find him pleasant.

LatinoSTAR: Yeah, Dane Cook got fugly in the past couple years.

The beef with Steve Carell is that he's not funny.

Bob Saget is truly the worst, neither a comedian or actor. I won't even watch America's Funniest Video re-runs if he's the host.
