First of all, if you don't like Adam Lambert, please do us all a favor and leave this thread because I am not looking for an argument.

Hey guys. I'm sure you guys have all heard of Adam Lambert on American Idol. I know there is an official American Idol thread but I just want to let you guys know that there are a lot of homophobes that are voting AGAINST Adam tonight because he's gay. And if he loses, it will mean that they have got what they want. And I really do not want that to happen. I know I sound a bit biased because I am a huge fan of Adam but it would be great if you 1,000 + users on JUB will dedicate about 5 minutes to 10 minutes to vote for Adam tonight! If you really like Adam like I do, you could spend 2 hours voting for him after the show ends! The show starts in less than 5 hours and after the show ends, you can vote for him.

If you have never heard of his songs. Here is MAD WORLD, his most famous performance on American idol.

 
You should listen to some of his studio recordings and some of the performances. That way, you can judge it by yourself. People either like him or dislike him with his personality. But one can't deny the fact that he has a lot of talent. He has one of the best voices out there (IN MY OPINION) and every judge has agreed that he will have a lot of success and has the best potential to become one of the best. But since he hasn't released an album yet, so there's no guarantees.

Do you have an 'in' with the homophobes that gave you this secret information about their dastardly plot?

I'll decide on who gets my vote after their performances tonight. I'm partial to Kris but won't rule out voting for Adam if his performances endear me.

Bill O'Reilly dedicated around half of his show last night to beg people to vote for Kris because Adam may be a "homosexual" and there have been a lot of articles written to persuade Christians to vote for the straight guy.

I am not saying you can't vote for Kris. And that everyone who votes for him are homophobes. I am saying that there are going to be a lot of people who are voting AGAINST Adam for all the wrong reasons.

Clearly you haven't read any Idol forums. The disgust and hatred are palpable. Many people just say outright that a gay man shouldn't win, and that he'll be a terrible role model for their children. They've even resorted to lying about his background, some suggesting he's made gay porn movies.

There's even a bunch of people from the Family Christian group of mothers or whatever going around emailing everyone about Adam's homosexuality and how it will affect their children and persuading them to vote against him. It's really disgusting.
 
Perhaps we should actually hear both performances before deciding on whom to vote for in this singing competition.

Based upon past performances, Adam has my vote. But if he screws the pooch tonight and Kris sings like an angel (or gets naked, you know, whatever works) then I am obligated to vote for the best singer.

As we all know, this show has really turned into a popularity more than a singing contest. I vote for the best performance of the evening, always.
 
I think it sucks that people will be voting against Adam just because of his sexuality.

I've been a fan of Adam all season long, but Kris has gotten better and better each week. I'll be voting based on performance; and it will be a tough decision.
 
Adam is just purely entertaining to watch & hear.. he is a true performer! Kris is kinda boring on stage.. nothing worth paying to see live. IMO
 
based on tonight's performance and the rest of the season it has to be adam... I'm voting for him because he may be gay, I'm voting for him because he has more talent than kris..

Sorry, but some of the most homophobic people I know are bisexual. most of them would vote against the gay guy just to prove that they're not "gay."

As far as American Idol goes.. I've never seen an episode of it and hope I never do. I just wish more people would vote in elections.
 
Ok, so in the interest of actually having an opinion... I watched videos of both guys.

If you want another bland piano man who sings songs your mom likes, I guess the Kris guy is your guy. The Adam guy I think is the more unique and boundary-pushing one.

but there's lots of people who only want a nice, non-threatening guy. And like I say.. a lot of people will vote against the Goth kid because they don't want anyone to think they're gay.
 
I can't vote for either. But Adam is clearly the stand out of this years crop. The others are the usual talent show fodder.

However, Adam is definitely more suited to musical theatre. I know its been said a zillion times...but thats because it's true! His OTT singing is ok for a short song but for a whole album or concert? Er, no thanks.

Who succeeds after the show depends on who gets the better material. A great voice is no use without great songs. Many previous idols have struggled through lack of strong songs.

Those declaring Adam as an amazing artist up there with Freddy mercury are being ridiculous. He hasn't achieved anything yet as a solo artist. Its all karaoke at this point. Bring on the original music, then we'll judge how good you really are.
 
voting schmoting, this is becoming a pissing contest and neither contestant has his dick in yr contest.

that said, liza minelli aka adam is a future hot vegas lounge act with beautiful eyes and a really strong sense of showmanship...his ACT is good ok.

simon/garfunkle aka kris is sustainable listening to me.not dance part material but his love of music shows through his instruments and his vocal integrity in a music hath charm to soothe the savage breast kind of way and i get the feeling that his music making like his smile are noteworthy. ok

who shd win? good question. my guess is that their differences are to great to compare..kinda like apples and oranges. in the parody that is AI they should call a draw and crown them both but, what the fuck do i know anyway?

I heard them both sing their song today and I have to say that Adam sounded better, but not to say Chris isn't good , he's damn good but I will watch it tonight and go from there.
 
Meh. when Bill O'Reilly dedicates his show to campaigning against the "probably homosexual," the trailer trash will fall in line.

And remember, even gay people didn't like him because he was a drag queen. Or a "Glambot." The gay community LOVES to destroy successful gay people and fall madly in love with straight men even if they're boring. Because being straight is better than being like them, I guess.

Luckily all this means is that the "glambot".. um.. nothing.

It means nothing.

And although they'll both have albums, nobody who actually likes music gives a shit.
