It's funny I don't hear people speculating about who Obama could pick as his running mate for Vice President? Personally I wonder if Hillary would accept should he win the nomination. And do you think Obama would accept Hillary's invitation to be her Vice Presidential candidate should she win the nomination? What do you think?

Hillary Clinton would never agree to take the second spot.

I think John Edwards would be ideal
for his running mate. Hillary would never accept!!

John Edwards would be a fine V.P. choice for Obama.

no i do not think Hillary Clinton would accept the V.P. position.

how ever if Clinton succeeds, obviously Obama would be an ideal choice for V.P.

I have no suggestion off the top of my head other than Bill Richardson of New Mexico. He is a Clintonite, however. Sen. Clinton? Not a chance for reasons too numerous to mention. It's an intriguing idea, but will never happen. John Edwards? Didn't go over so well as VP last time around in 2004. Do people have that short of a memory?

I imagine should Sen. Obama gain the nomination, he will surprise and satisfy in his VP choice.

Definitely put me down for EDWARDS.

Of course I'd rather have Bill Richardson, or maybe Wesley Clark (which would certainly add some "military cred" to the ticket), but Edwards has a lot of name recognition and it's largely favorable.

And, with the U.S. electorate, name recognition is ALMOST everything that it's all about...

I'm with those who think Hillary would never accept Obama's VP. If Obama is to continue the comparison to JFK then he would need someone from the South who could carry the South. Since race may be in his favor this time it might not be so important but Kennedy shrewdly got Johnson on board so Obama might need to think along these lines. He doesn't really need someone from NY or CA does he because they will go with whoever the democrat is.

What about Bill Nelson from FL or John Rockefeller from W VA?

For a female candidate I really like Kathleen Sibelius, governor from KS, but don't think that would balance the ticket very well. I suppose Bill Richardson (NM) might help with the Hispanic vote which seems to have gone solidly for Hillary.

PS: Edwards was my candidate all along. However he lit no fires and I think his redux appearance as a VP candidate would invalidate Obama's "let's make new" slogans.

I'd like to see Edwards on the Obama ticket, but I've heard that he does not want to be run as VP like in the last election.

Other than that, I'd like to see Al Gore, but I sincerely doubt that will happen.

I like the Biden idea as well, but he doesn't give as big of a 'kick' to the ticket as some others may, and I think candidates take that aspect into consideration when choosing a running mate.

I know this doesn't belong here but close enough...any who this is from two of my favorite peeps on youtube. It's too good not to share with you guys.

I'm still undecided and I have no idea who I will vote for this November!

Biden brings a record of experience in foreign policy and is a true statesman. He is also a fucking bore, a gasbag and a lousy politician. He has run for president since 1988 - and gone nowhere. Why would anyone think he would be a good VP?

John Edwards? Seriously? John Edwards? Does anyone remember 2004?

I'd want Wesley Clark to be his running mate, but he is a Clinton supporter and as stated earlier he doesn't have name recognition.

Definitely put me down for EDWARDS.

I like all three of your choices, and they should all be on the short list. Of the three, I have no preference.

I don't like Biden for VP. I think he is too important in his present committee position to pick for a VP candidate.

And Clinton would be out of the question. She's junior senator from a reliably Democratic state. She would bring nothing extra to the ticket. (Okay, maybe her rolodex.)

I agree about Bill Richardson. The running mate should supplement the candidate's experience and help get them more votes. Richardson has foreign policy experience and would help Obama close the gap with Latino voters.

If McCain picks Huckabee for his VP to appeal to the conservative base then I will not respect anyone who votes for him. McCain is too McOld to risk having Huckabee one step away from the presidency...

Well, regardless of Vice President running mate choice, I think Mrs. Clinton should be our next President.
