Hey J.... nice to meet you....
I've actually been to Gresham... We were headed to Portland but he two people we were to meet had settled in Gresham.
I love that area of the country. Been there about a half dozen times or more. Lot's of rain for sure, but I love the ferns and the pines that abound. Lot's of waterfalls too, going into that area from Eastern Oregeon.
Is here still a restaurant in downtown Portland called Jakes? I remember going to it.... had a filet mignon with a poached oyster, covered by a wonderful sauce.
I also remember a chain restaurant... not sure of the name.... something like beef and brew? Anyway the would serve you your lobster and steak, or crab and give you free carafes of wine.
That was a long time ago, and of couse they didn't serve wine of great quality.... but for a guy from Utah that wasn't even used to liquor by the drink (at that time), it was a fun thing. I was a young guy back then and it was fun and I remember fondly going to that place with my friends from Portland.
