  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Was 2006 a good year in general?

Work was more demanding and frustrating that usual.

Some vacations weren't all that great, but several of them were excellent.

New friends were enjoyable; old friends were still there.

I'll give 2006 a C-

This year was really, really good. I moved into my first apartment and got a job that I enjoy quite a bit. I grew really close to my older brother and I see his great kids all the time. And after ending a ridiculous relationship last October I met someone who came completely out of left field in April. We began dating in May and I can safely say that I am in love with him, a term that I do not throw around loosely. So, things are looking up, I hope 2007 is just as good

THE BAD NEWS
I didn't win the lottery.
I'm too old to be a prostitute.
I'm down $2,500 for the year on the stock market.
My house lost 25% of it's (former) value thanks to US economic policies.

THE GOOD NEWS
I'm NOT a Republican.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

For the most part, it was a good year. I went back to school which proved to be a very good thing. It afforded me a look at something different and a possible new direction in my life. I came out to my parents and the world didn't come to an end. Financially it's been a hard year, but I think things are getting better. I had my heart broken, but I know I learned things about myself as a result so that was a good thing. Overall the past year was all right and I have high hopes for this coming year. So we'll see.

2006 sucked just like every other year and it's finishing up even worse.

the year has had its highs and lows (both extreme at some points)

right now i seem to be finishing up on a high note with my personal and professional lives, but not so much the school one:(

I for one can't wait for 2006 to end. It has been a really horrible year up until the last month or so. First my cat that my partner and I have had for 17 years got sick and we had to put him down, there was a death in the family, the mother-in-law moved in for 3 months, and to wind it all up relationship issues. Though things seem to be getting better and we get closer to 07. But I ramble on.

Here's to a great new year. (UU)

It's been a much better year for me. It was the year I came out to strangers, found some new gay friends, got A's in my exams and this time I'm more optimistic about 2007. The only bad things about 2006 were the opportunities I missed. Although on the flipside of that, I'm proud of stepping out in the open and embracing life.

This has been one of the best years of my life so far.

There are so many things I am thankful for this year. I graduated college, spent amazing times with my best friends, took a few vacations to places I have never been, started dating my amazing boyfriend, and lastly I am ending my year with a healthy group of friends and family around me!

What more can a boy ask for?

that would have been great ... i wish i had your year ... sadly mine was quite a depressing year
