Was Hurricane Helene's damage inland foreseen and hidden?

I'm ok, but things aren't well at the moment.
One of my brothers was found dead Saturday afternoon in his home; neighbor went to check on him.... he still didn't have power, but he did have food and water.
He had been in declining health for a while, but I guess the stress was too much.
We're still waiting on the official cause of death....
:(
sorry to hear about the loss of your brother.

I'm so sorry. I know it's a shock to lose a loved one after the disaster spared him.

We're in Vero Beach and we got hammered by tornadoes hours before the hurricane even made landfall. One of our neighboring communities was hot twice and they had multiple fatalities. Our power never went out and we were able to ride it out. We had something like 160 tornado warnings and we stupidly ignored all of them sitting in our living room watching the news. After seeing the devastation in my community and those around us we will never do that again....

I was surprised to hear on the news that tornadoes hit even before the hurricane made landfall. Glad to hear that you are alright.
