So, I like straight guys, but never make a move because I hate making someone else feel awkward or uncomfortable with an unwanted sexual advance, but last night, I feel like I looked the gift horse in the mouth. Let me know what you all think!

A guy who's the sales rep for one of my business' vendors came out to see the store and get to know us a bit. He was a real friendly guy and took us all out to a local pub last night and proceeded to buy us drinks all night. He didn't want to get a hotel room, so I offered him my couch, since I live close by. He came back to my place and we proceeded to drink a little more and just shoot the shit about anything. When it came time to go to bed, I light-heartedly offered to share my huge bed with him since he was a little too tall for the day bed, and he took me up on it. We sort of had some strange conversation before both passing out, but I'm wondering if he actually was giving me signals, albeit poor ones.

Here's what I'm thinking:

1) He was horny, because he definitely looking for a girl to stay with at the bar. That didn't happen, so he stayed with me.

2) His neurotic girlfriend called at like 4 in the morning (6 her time) and ranted at him for 30 minutes about who knows what. He hung up on her and scratched his balls, but kept saying, "I've never cheated on my girlfriend , EVER!" Passive aggressive much?

3) He made some uncomfortable jokes about sharing a bed, but not like normal straight guys who "play flirt" with us gays.

4) He put on deodorant before he got in bed, and the scent definitely turned me on, and I think he knew this.

My best friend thinks I missed the opportunity, but I didn't want to make an advance, and then have everything be weird, especially since I communicate with him about the business stuff on a regular basis.

I suppose there's some regret involved, but I'm curious what other people think. I mean, he was pretty hot, a clean cut blue eyed Wisconsin boy who towered over me at 6'3".

Anyway, feel free to post your thoughts!

Also i'd only really be inclined to say yes, if he slept over at some point again in the future.

Back to reality: no he didn't want to have intercourse with you. just because he put on deodorant on before getting in bed doesnt mean he wanted to turn you on, he prolly had smelly pits and was being considerate. from what i read the guy didnt touch you. you said he was looking for a woman at the bar, at a dude. So lets look at the facts factually and not fantasy wise. he wanted somewhere to stay because he was being all cheap, he shared a bed with you because he prolly thought you would just let him have your bed for himself, he put deodorant because he didnt want to offend you, and his girlfriend called him not a boyfriend. So NO he didnt want to fool around with you.
 
I don't think there was much to the situation. Using deodorant before bed is just being considerate. Since he didn't complain about sharing a bed with you, keep offer your bed to share whenever he's in town...to get to know him better ;)

Ummm. Dude has a girl friend, looks like he was actually trying to pick up some other girl that night to cheat on his woman, shared a bed with you and made some uncomfortable jokes to ease the awkwardness, and put on some deodorant. How does any of this scream "fuck me!!" to you dude?

He wasn't tryin to sleep with you. This doesn't sound any different then if it was two straight guys. Only difference might be that when he talked about never cheatin on this girl, you'd both talk about how hot the girls at the bar were and what he hoped would happen that night with one of them.
 
Lol, you're gonna drive yourself crazy speculating. Who knows though, maybe he would have open to some uh...assistance. U never know with some guys, and I can't believe people are still using the "But he has a GILRFRIEND...he wouldn't mess with a guy" line. Seriously. In my experience it's been harder finding guys who DON'T have girlfriends, but still up to scratching a certain itch. It really is crazy how many wifed-up guys are out there trying to ride dick...

Btw, I forget, did u mention whether or not the guy knew you liked dick? It's not a definite red flag, but if he knew the sitch and was still down for sharing a bed.... and again, I'm not saying that automatically means he wanted you on his dick, but that shit would be a little suspect.

There's no denying the fact that a.) he went home with a man rather than going to a hotel. (Is he that cheap? Something was pulling him to your house to sleep over. I doubt it was poverty.)

b.) He actually took you up on your offer to sleep in the same bed??? Can't be any more obvious that he was expressing homosexual desires.

Now, that said, it's another story entirely if he would have acted on those desires any more than he already had.

I don't care how little the guest bed was. To go home with somebody and then share their bed is very clear he's up for expressing or playing games (going through the motions until he has to actually do it) at least.

Get a little more chummy with him. Get him to go out drinking again and invite him back.

No straight man goes back to another's house, someone he doesn't know well, and decides to share his bed without it being sexual--either actually acted on or thought about.

There's a word for people who would disagree: Clueless.

I was going to reply, but you pretty much said exactly what I was going to. Going through his checklist, I was just shaking my head with incredulity that this = a pass.
 
I think the question you should ask yourself is does he know about your sexuality?

If so, don't you think a straight guy would have been a little more hesitant to share a bed with a gay man?

I've had guys freak about sleeping in a tent with me when we were kids after they found out I was gay. lol
