washington DC

Glad you had a great time, Taylor :) So if I go, you can show me around now, right?
absolutely! i can get you just as lost as i got myself and flip by pretending to know where i was going!:-)

although i did somehow manage to find the polish center entirely on my own... (nudge at wiz;))

Okay, rub it in that you found a sign that identified a Polish Center and I had walked by the same spot 50 times in the last months.....sometimes I can't spot the forest for the trees!

You can't get lost in DC.....you can just get into trouble luminum!

We were right there with you this time singing! You didn't hear us? Probably is good!

i heard the whole thing, and even sang along for a bit....too bad tom was so awfully bad that he drowned us all out;)

and we're not wimps- we just didn't want to get fondled by the hooker! (at least not in front of everyone):-)

I didn't think you minded when I fondled you....ooops, a different hooker!

Ha...ha...ha...!

wow, now i'm really really sad that i missed these two nights of fun...

well thanks. too bad i'm not going to be in town again for a while.

You guys sang with a hooker? Remember the one in Toronto? Bless her soul.

man, reading through this thread makes me miss my old town so much. And the JUB group that used to do college night at apex (or cobalt). Yes, apex gets a bit warm to say the least. You get used to it after a while.

Ahhh.... *jockboy goes back to daydreaming*

Okay Flip....I was there so where were you? We were crowded up by the DJ in the video lounge for a while until it got so blasted hot we couldn't breathe....of course my favorite bartender was making the drinks just a weeee bit strong (well, really strong) so the night went by quickly!

I think the new place is opening someplace around China Town tonight....think there will be a bunch of us checking it out after dinner provided the tropical storm doesn't drown us all.....

Anyone who when to the new lounge that opened tonight. Tell me about it, is it any good?

Hey Flip....Be Bar.... it's at 9th near P (I think the address is like 1318 or something). It's in the old Salvation Army building.....had planned to go last night but we never got past Halo and Cobalt. If the rain lets up, I'll walk there tonight since it's not far from where I live and I can only imagine parking will be a bear.

It's right by the Giant's Grocery Store.

Apex on Thursday night is "college night" -- you get in free with your college ID and believe me they don't check the year! On Friday night and Saturday night the kereoke bar opens upstairs; you'll find Charlie belting out the toons (well maybe...he is a damn good singer and had the balls to do it when most of us watched!) Apex is one of the few clubs that under 21 can get in but be prepared to be marked with two big "X" on your hands and they watch to make sure you don't drink other than water! It doesn't get busy until after 10:30 or 11:00 (actually the other night was after 11). They have a big dance floor/DJ; video bar/dj and the upstairs kereoke. It gets hot and steamy in the video bar first which means shirts come off and then the regular part gets much the same way.

I think it is water I've slipped on sometimes in the video bar but as hot as it is with guys and no shirts, it could be something else!

Saturday is liquid ladies and I've not been; going to Be Bar tonight since it stopped raining.

Checked out the new place -- Be Bar last night. If you've ever been to Halo, it's a lot like it except about 1/2 as big, twice as crowded, and not nearly as open. It's more south of P Street by the convention center; you could easily miss it were it not for the long line of gay guys waiting to get in.

It is smoke free which was really nice. The inside has the changing colored lights on the ceiling and had kind of a mural light show on the wall. The building is very narrow (much more than Halo) and there are couches along one side which one could not sit on because it was just too packed. The dance floor or dance room is in the back up about six stairs. One wall is colored light panels that change and there's lights from the ceiling. It was okay except very claustrophobic feeling. It took 20 minutes to get to the bar to even order something; the bartenders were obviously new. One only got about one drink an hour which meant you didn't leave drunk!

The dance floor was packed but not with dancing; just people trying to get away from the crush in the rest of the bar. Very clean, very nice but I hope they open an upstairs at some point because it felt much too packed.

I wonder what it would be like for "happy hour?" The line was nice to meet friends, talk to new people, and just enjoy the eye candy! Drew a little more "metro" looking crowd--kind of like Halo. Had to be 21 to get in as well.
