Watching Brad

I just wanted to say that I recently started reading this story today...I started at the beginning and was taken away for ages...I'm barely on chapter 16, and just checked to see how far along you have come O_o I have alot of reading to do, but I can't wait to continue this story, it is so terrific, so well written. I understand by reading some of your notes between chapters that you don't seek to be published, and merely write for the enrichment of others and for the praise you receive. If you ever manage to write an ending for this story, you would have one hell of a manuscript just ready to hand into a publisher, and it would be sitting on my shelf once it hit release just ready for me to dive into this world again. Absolutely fantastic storytelling...and I generally hate stories told in first-person. Great Job!

[you] merely write for the enrichment of others and for the praise you receive.

Actually, that's not exactly true. I don't write for the praise. I write for the 'difference' I make in the readers' lives. It makes me feel happy that my work is making them feel happy. It means that I have accomplished something in my life other than becoming rich (Yeah, right!) at their expense.

But thank you for your compliments, and welcome to the story. I hope you find the next 200 chapters as enjoyable as the first 16. ..|

(Whew! I almost thought yodu'd posted an irresistable tidbit just as I had to get ready to run for a few hours.

The stress that would have caused me, lol!

Good Morning, Neil.

I've been reading many other stories on Nifty and elsewhere, and finally got a chance to catch up on Brad. Another wonderful chapter! Thank you!

Hi Neil,

EXCELLENT story! I've been enjoying it very much.

This is fiction at it's best, are you perhaps thinking about publishing Brad as a book?

Life is tough and you have incorporated so much of itr in this saga.

The King is dead ........ long live Neil!!!!!!!

Josh,
After many of us asking Neil, some insistently, Neil is pretty adamant about not publishing.

I just started reading the story today and it's amazing, flawless actually! I love it!

Have you ever thought about publishing it? Have you ever published any of your work? You're an amazing writer!

You inspire me in so many ways. Thank you for sharing your gift with us!

Neil,

I have now finished reading Watching Brad and I have to say that it is FANTASTIC story! You are a truly gifted writer....

Any chance of an update any time soon?

- Phil

Hi Neil,

I know its kind of strange to write to u now as we are at the end of may 2011 and that your story i am reading now take place ( for the moment ) in 2006.
Its just that i have registered to this site only a week ago and that, since then, i 've been starting to read "watching Brad" and just can't stop of reading it.
Mind you i am going to start the chapter 55 so i still have a lot of reading before being at chapter 220.
I drop you those lines because, just like the other people reading your story, i have not counted the number of klenex ' boxes i have been using but i have not counted either the number of time i have been loud of laughing with your high sense of humour you have. Just 2 examples the 1st one when you explain Mag and her girl friend how Ted met with Brad and then she said " oh you met his short 1st and then 20' after the rest of him " and the other one was when Warren discover Ted was engaged with Brad and he did not tell him, he says " You are a son of a bitch " when Ted's mother was just near by, and you made Ted answered " yes i am ".
I think i 've been laughing for at least 10'.
Anyway congratulation for your story that i am reading with happiness and just like others readers i would like to read all of them at once as you are such an "Awesome" writter.
I also must say another thing. Being french, what I like when i am reading your story is that i am improving my english bacause of the words you are using to explain some things than Ted and Brad are doing together and not only at that time.
For all that thanks a lot Neil.
I will still posting from time to time to give my thinking about that story.
Take care

Hi Neil - Thinking about you and am hoping things are O.K. Of course it would be nice to have another chapter or three but know we will in time. Take care of yourself. RBRCNDR (Andy)

I'm trying. I really am. It's very discouraging not being able to pump out new chapters the way I used to be able to, and that makes it even harder. It makes me feel like I've let you all down.

Dear Neil.
We, all your readers. greatly appreciate that which you have already achieved. One of the longest and best gay stories ever written, against the turmoil of great ill health. We will be patient for the next episode of this lovely saga.:D(*8*):kiss:

No need to apologize Neil! This story is amazing and anyone who truly loves it and has been faithful to it since the beginning will patiently wait. I don't care how long it takes, I will still be a fan of yours and will still read it the moment it is posted.

Oh wow what a great story, i've got to say i am not one to read but this story got me hooked and just had to read it to the end, took me a little while though but hay rome wasnt built in a day.
First class, fantastic and more. keep up the good work and I think I speak for many people Watching Brad waiting for the next chapter will be worth the wait .

I agree, there is no need to apologize Neil. Just take care of yourself.

Our weekend? Tres bien. (Voici le stylo de ma tante.) Thats all I learned in high school french :(

That's funny the way we learn foreign languages according to each country.

Here in France when we learn english we have things like " my sister is not a boy" or " my taillor is rich "

It seems to have the same level than the sentences you learn in high school !;)

Hi Neil,

I've been wanting to post for a while, but promised myself I wouldn't until I read all 65 pages of thread containing your amazing story. Over the past week I've read through all 200-something chapters (it kind of helped that I've been home sick with a cold the past couple of days, too - your story definitely made them way more bearable!). I laughed and cried and was immensely touched throughout your story, and found each of your characters so unique and lovable and brimming with personality. You have such talent, and I never would have expected to find something like this on a forum, especially because believe it or not, this was my first experience reading such a story online. Your portrayal of Ted and Brad's relationship is magnificent! I'm so grateful I found it!

I have taken a long hiatus from JUB, almost a year and half. Very happy to find that you had continued the story and can say that I am now very happily caught up in the story line. Much success on your chapters to come. Thanks, and look forward to the next chapter.
