Watching Brad

The second thing the good doctor told Ted made him happy. And, I'm guessing, the third was to postpone the wedding. We'll know monday morning. It's gonna be a long weekend, I think. Good goin' Neil. I really like your writing style. You're very talented. Thank you!

We'll know monday morning.

I do hope these words are tasty. You may be eating them for lunch on Monday. ;)

Thanks again for your comments, guys. I appreciate them. And, once again, I apologize for that little glitch during the original post. I don't understand why so much of the chapter was deleted when I edited it.

Honestly Neil, I got on this morning and pulled this one up( as I am a devout reader- gotta have my fix every Mon Wed and Fri) and thought, "Thats it???????????" I was disappointed, but then it got all better when the full chapter got posted. Thanks again.

Zac

It surprised me, too. I was about to post and tell you that it was just as long as the other chapters, but decided to take a peek at it first. It barely covered the first page of the 10 pages I'd written. (Most chapters average about 9 pages on WordPerfect.)

The strange thing was that the entire chapter appeared after I edited it, but, when I clicked on the link again, it was gone. I'm hoping maybe Autolycus can explain it.

I'll be more careful next time if I edit another chapter online.

I just hope the song by Peggy Lee going through my head idoesn't apply. It's called "Is that all there is?"
It is prolly the most depressing song ever performed.

Brad can stay here if he needs time out.;)

I don't know what you are planning, but since the Doctor went out and talked to Brad, I certainly hope he prepared him for what was to come. If not, that was really cruel. I can see a psychiatrist suggesting someone postpone a wedding, but not to break an engagement after only one hour. Brad deserves better than that.

I'm also going to be out of touch for a week, so won't find out till next Friday what happens. Curse those cliff hangers!! LOL

I've quoted that section of the story. Please note the 'bold' text:

He didn't respond. Instead, he said, "Will you excuse me a moment?" Without waiting for my response, he stood and left the room.

He soon returned and sat in his chair once more. "I met your friend," he said. "Brad. . . ‘Hayes', was it?"

"Yes."

"He sounds like a nice young man."

"Thank you," I replied.

Dr. Davis told me three things. The first was that he had made an emergency appointment for tomorrow - Saturday - for the same time.

He met Brad when he went out to make the appointments, but he didn't go to talk to him. It won't spoil the story if I tell you that he did nothing more than to meet Brad.

Well!! Mighty fine!! That left me totally speachless but I can see where this is going. It seems to me that the good doctor is telling him to take a few steps back and give Ted some breathing room, take a load off and all that rot. Very excellent chapter.

Brad will be gutted....as am I. I really don't see the relationship as being Ted's biggest issue....but I'll wait like everyone else to see what you've got planned Neil.
Cheers for sharing this story with us all.

Trent

^^ I read all my PMs. I'm not popular enough to receive hundreds a day, though.

I've read yours and I'll respond as soon as I wake up a bit more and my brain stops yawning.

I hope I can hold out until Monday. I don't know how you are able to come up with cliffhanger after cliffhanger. Keep it up. I can't wait to read what happens. Thanks again for a great story. Vic

Hi Neil. It's been a while since I've commented. I don't have the time to read as often as I used to, but rest assured, I'm still following your story with just as much interest as always.

I see you've returned to your old ways with the cliffhangers! As usual, you have me left with mind boggling scenarios as to what's next. I can only hope the worst ones in my brain never materialize. Otherwise I might be needing to see Ted's doctor!

Thanks again for providing us with such an amazing story.

Gary

I don't know how you are able to come up with cliffhanger after cliffhanger.

I write until something neat happens and then I stop.

Unfortunately, since the story usually writes itself, I'm stuck trying to figure out a solution to the cliffhangers.

In fact, the only cliffhanger I've really planned and thought out hasn't even happened yet. the others have simply 'happened'.

As things in the "Real World" turned out, I wasn't able to get my "Watching Brad" FIX until this evening! Probably a "Good Thing"! Without the re-posting of the full chapter, and all the "chat" that resulted since, I can only imagine having my own "Panic Attack" on Friday!!!! :grrr:  ](*,) Whew!! "Slid" right by that one!!! ..|

But ... now I have to wait 'til Monday!! #-o What the HELL can possibly be going on????

Neil ... I would say You've done it AGAIN! But ... You've been doing it all along!! And, THAT is what has kept ALL of "US" on "The Hook", and eagerly awaiting MORE!!! :=D: :=D: :=D:

Oh ... my poor "Gay Nerves"!!! (group)

Keep smilin'!! (*8*)
Chaz ;)
