Neil,
As always, it was great to read the latest installment. Reading about Ted and Brad always gives me hope that there is such a thing as a stable, long term marriage out there for gay men.

Im all Warm and Tingly Inside after that Chapter. Was so Worth the wait. Will Keep Me Fed for a good old bit XD.

Neil,
Thank you for the last chapter. Better than the chapter was the fact that you were feeling well enough to sit and write your story for us. Today I am 10 days short of my 81st birthday and I really felt that the last chapter was a present from you. Made me feel so good that I went out and purchased a present for my self. I think seeing an 81 yo fart driving an o9 Chev 3/4 ton truck down the road with a load of trash on the back ought to give a few at least a smile.
Take good care of your self Neil, and keep entertaining us with many more chapters.

I can't picture that because I don't know what an 09 Chevy 3/4 ton looks like. But it made me think of my grandfather's old '48 Ford half-ton. . . and that made me smile.

Neil:

Amazing story. I stumbled across it a week and a half ago and just moments ago finished the last chapter. Very well done my friend! Thank you so much for sharing, i hope they continue for a very long time!

Cheers

Chad

Ahh Neil....thank you! (*8*) That you provided us with yet another magnificent addition to this story is wonderful...but that you do it whilst feeling slightly less than okay is true friendship.
Rapid fire plastic pops snapped loudly as the safety seal strip tore itself apart from the rest of the caps.
Neil...your writing style is...magical. I really do feel like I'm in the room with this gorgeous family....plastic pops, warts and all. ;)

Thank you again...for all your efforts!

My sweet Neil ... I have read everything from the beginning having been seduced by several friends to read this wonder-filled story. I avoided starting until I had finished other overdue projects and finally started about 10 days ago. As I am very busy it took me this long to reach where you are now ... and it does not feel finished ...

I am in love with you --- and your creation, your family and their friends. I was married to my Beloved in 2003 when it became legal in Ontario but we had an amazing 37-year relationship before he passed with Cancer in 2005, almost 4 years ago now. We both trained in India as Tantric Swamis, and adoption for the likes of us was unthinkable in the 1970's when we would have liked to consider it ...

He would also adore you and the Family you created ... I know that for certain. So to you and all the Members of your wonderful imagined friends and family, welcome into our lives and Godspeed!

I do not know my way around this site as yet but as soon as I do I will send you my contact details and ask for yours ... I know that there are other friends of mine who would be more than willing to take a drive to Peterborough to deliver a heart-full of Hugs, and to take you for lunch/supper/drinks ...

In the meantime I say with all my energy, Namasté...

I hope all this mysticism is explained in some way or fashion...

I'm eating my nails waiting for the next chapter.

Amazing job Neil.

I'm only on part LXVI, but I had to jump in with two things:

First, this line--

" Besides, I love children. They're so free to do what they wish without people pointing fingers at them and whispering behind their backs."

I read that and thought, wow -- that's what Jesus meant when He said the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the child-like: they feel free to follow their hearts, and they don't go around judging and condemning others!
Thanks for that line!

The other is that I think it was a mistake to write Cali and Mags totally out of the story. Seriously, Lindsey had a good friend, and they were good friends -- I expected to see them on a picnic or two, and maybe out to see a movie, and Lindsey and (I can't even remember his name!) their kid spending the night occasionally.

Oops. I just discovered that British Columbia doesn't have a provincial police force.

My apologies. I should have researched it first instead of assuming there was. Let's just pretend that Barry goofed and meant to say he was on the city police force.

FYI, the BCPP was disbanded in 1950 and has since been patrolled by the RCMP.

I figure the story is in a parallel universe, anyway. Seriously -- in this one, have you ever heard of kids being able to see a man they've never met through a one-way window?

Kulindahr,
Welcome to Neil-Land. Where Ted, Brad, the kids, plus Kevin and his family and friends, and Jason and his orgiastically horny crew of friends call home.

Three different stories, along with Star Gate and a few other tidbits, all brought to you, selflessly, by our good friend and master author, Neil.

I got hooked this past year, too.
Welcome to the fish bowl.

I'm not sure what this has to do with British Columbia not having a provincial police force, but I will answer your question as seriously as you have asked it:

I don't know anyone personally, child or otherwise, being able to see the wrong way through a one-way mirror. However, when I got the idea to write it that way, I investigated it on the internet and discovered that, given the proper conditions, some people can see through the mirror when others can't. That was good enough for me.

The mment you introduced the see-through-the-mirror bit, I thought you were treading on the realm of sci-fi, which means parallel universe (alternate timeline).

So if we're in an alternate universe anyway, why not one with a BC provincial force?

(Or for that matter, as in a story I wrote once, one where some British lords with good sense managed to avert the War of Independence, and the U.S. and Canada are just "British America".... as a consequence of which, the British Empire is alive and well and running over a quarter of the globe quite justly and prosperously.)
