I just want to say to all of my Republican friends, don't feel bad, it was a great night for us cause we stopped Obama from having a landslide! Thank you.

That's like saying a woman died in a car accident but the airbag deployed!

We did a really really good job of getting our asses spanked!!!!!! Go Pubs!!!

fortunately, it also worked the other way around.

And at the end of the day, losing is losing.

Who cares about a landslide.

But nice to have you back trolling JUB.

Searching for a silver lining to numb your wound.

For the fifth time in six elections (1992, 1996, 2000, 2008, and 2012), your Republican Party failed to win the U.S. Popular Vote.

if you count 2000 as a fluke because of the controversy, then 2004 was also a fluke because of 9-11. so republicans haven't authentically won since 1988.

and it was an electoral landslide like many predicted, if you win Ohio Florida and Virgina, all of which Obama didn't need to win, then it is a landslide.

Well 'Dark Cap' did start this thread before Florida had been decided so he might have been clinging to the ridiculous hope that the end result would have been 303 - 235....which would have made the victory seem narrower.

But nope.

332 - 206....that's an electoral landslide.

So the sock puppet Dark Cap and his Republican friends can take no solace at all.

Well.... it was actually a big loss for Obama! He got 8 million fewer votes this time than he did last time!

George W. Bush "gained" 12 million votes the second time in 2004.

Nixon, Reagon, Clinton, and Bush all "gained" votes the second time around! So I see it as a big loss for Obama.

He won the popular vote with about 2.4% points. So that's not really a landslide.

So I don't think the Republicans are in such bad shape as everyone is saying. The popular vote margin was smaller this time and it's likely to be even more smaller the next time.

Well, looks like you've hit the denial part in the 5 stages of grief, Benvolio...I mean, DarkCap. Obama won both the electoral and popular vote. Bush only "won" the popular vote by .5% in 2000 and 2.4% in 2004, compared to Obama winning by 7.2% in 2008 and 2.5% in 2012. As for the electoral vote, Bush won by only 271 in 2000 and 286 in 2004, while Obama snagged 365 in 2008 and and 303 in 2012. In every case, Obama outdid Bush II's numbers. How do you like those apples?

Oh, look who else kicked GOP ass:

Elizabeth Warren
Tammy Duckworth
Tammy Baldwin
Claire McCaskill
Tim Kaine

Funny you had the same thought as I did.

Yeah it wasn't just a win for Obama (electoral landslide actually), but it was a win for his coalition. Gay marriage was approved in a couple of states by popular vote for the first time in history. Women made significant gains in politics and there'll be 20 women serving in the senate come 2013. Blacks and Latinos made their voices heard loud and clear (nice job trying to suppress the vote Repubs) and suddenly Asians are showing up, overwhelmingly favoring Obama over Romney. The white vote declined 2%, the youth vote increased 1-2%. The GOP is in trouble. Demographics are flipping on them faster than they would've thought. Even in Texas, Democrats have brought down Republican supermajorities, and this state is getting ready to go from red to purple in the next couple of election cycles. Republicans need to head to the wilderness and do some soul-searching, because in all reality, we can't run this country without them. Stop being massive dicks and come to the table and help move this country forward.
