Wearing shorts in the winter...WTF?

/\ I think you've mentioned your Norwegian ancestry many times. :)

And don't forget our traces of Neanderthal DNA.

Anyway, by now it should be evident, by the posts/examples in this thread, that physical activity is very important to keeping warm. Blood flow, burning calories, and such.

Though, amusingly, I've talked to many people who have never made the connection as to why winter festivities/traditions always include high calorie foods - lots of fat and sugar.

My dad would wear shorts during the winter season and I'd ask him aren't you cold #-o he would say no. Just looking at people wear shorts during the winter season just makes me colder lol

"Wearing Shorts in the Winter", is the new, "I Wear My Sunglasses at Night".

I wear briefs with boxers over them year round in the apartment. Like TickTock, it is too difficult for my to put on pants, especially when I have no feeling in my feet whatsoever. I put on pants only when I'm going out. If I'm stepping out the door for only a minute or so for whatever reason, I do so in my shorts. I'm not out there long enough to get cold.

I have lost most feeling below the waist except for pain and some tingling. I also have foot drops so putting pants on can be a bitch just because I can't control my foot when sliding them in.

Something you never think about until it affects you. Who knew dressing could be hard.

To make a real fashion statement, be sure to wear shorts in the winter with crocs and no socks, too.

For those of you that smoke cigarettes (or used too) I've been told that smoking warms up their body. Is that true?

I does not. The reverse is true.

I went for a run today in the Santa Monica Mountains. Shorts, shed the shirt after about ten minutes. It was about 75 degrees today.

Usually when I am leaving the gym I have them on because I have worked up a good sweat, or if I am taking the cans to the curb or something that won't require me to be outside very long. "Winter" is a relative term, it was just 72 on Christmas here in Virginia and in the upper 60's on New Years day. I remember I had a co-worker from Boston who wore shorts all the time in winter, because he said that the VA winters were nothing compared to the Mass ones. It was in the 50's the other day in LA and folks were wearing parkas, and heavy coats!

Went to college in upstate NY - and yep, could be -10 without the windchill - and usually snowing, and there was always one or two guys who would be in shorts. The rest of us look like we are living in Siberia, but they look like they are on the way to the park for a nice afternoon. I could never understand it.

Our winters are very mild here on the southwestern tip of Africa, so I have been known to do shorts in winter on occasion if the weather is more cool/mild than cold. But usually it's jeans or trackies for me.

Summer, it's shorts all the way even for work.

I don't wear shorts... even in the summer.

I do see guys here wearing shorts in the winter. There are days when its warm enough to do so, but some do it even when its freeezing cold out.

What, no lederhosen porn?

How disappointing.
