Weeds creator loves illegal downloads of show

Well, here's a rarity: a TV producer who wants you to watch a show illegally!
At least she's the only one who is admitting in public, that is. Weeds creator Jenji Kohan actually loves the fact that episodes of the new season are available online. In fact, she wishes that the entire season was online already:
"Revenue aside, I don't expect to get rich on 'Weeds.' I'm excited it's out there. Showtime is great, but it's a limited audience...if I had my druthers, the whole thing would be available right now."
This brings up something, though. At what point does a free copy of a TV show become harmful to a network instead of just free publicity? Unlike the other networks, Showtime doesn't have commercials and can probably manage something like this a lot better. The networks have been upset that their new pilots have gotten around, though some are wondering if the networks themselves are doing a lot of it to create buzz about the shows and see what fans think of them.

I just got Showtime...so i need to try and catch up so i can watch the new season!

first 4 eps are pretty decent, I'll probably wait at least a month or 2 for the rest to show up online.

I saw the first 4 episodes online and I think they're great. The show is only getting better. I can't wait for episode 5 to air. :)

I love that show, I have been watching the repeats of last season to remind me of what happened. Man that was some ending last year!
Great cast, good writing, and Justin Kirk is so damn sexy.

the next season is here already

who ever is leaking it thank you very much

I really can't wait to see how they get them out of the hole they dug themselves in.

I just finished Season 1 today....went out and rented season 2...so I need to get on watching that tonight and tomorrow!

Im so fucking excited!!! I love Weeds. I have become addicted to it ever since it came on and now even more since Desperate Housewives is taking a nosedive.

I hear you, I mean when last season ended I just sat there thinking, Holy shit!
But it was typically great of the show how such a situation with all those guns and all that tension could actually be in some twisted way be horrific yet funny at the same time.

january guy, the show is about a single mother and her two sons who move to the suburbs and she eventually gets caught up in the drug trade, she finds partners, competition, and a DEA agent.

I'll bet that Nancy and what's his face get out of it fine, they ain't gonna shoot her when they can still get the dope. What I'm curious about is how Silas gets out of the mess with that bitch and the cop. And we can't forget Andy chasing his ex and his younger nephew with that Inuit bounty hunter, or whatever he is.

i just finished the second season tonight..can't wait for tomorrow to see the premiere!

Well the first 4 episodes of the 3rd season leaked about a month ago and I wasn't really pleased at all with the first two episodes. Without spoiling anything I think they just dwelled on the one issue for too long. I mean, I understand even comedies need to be dramatic at points but it just dragged. That being said, I have both the first and second seasons on DVD and have watched each and every episode 5 or 6 times. I've gotten ALL of my friends into and we just LOVE it.

And I look forward to hearing all the opening artists perform the theme song. It's like the only opening song in the history of shows I've watched where I actually watch it every single time. And they did something clever at the end of the 4th episode of this 3rd season and I got a big ole kick out of it.
