My plans for being out in the gardens this weekend are shot to hell with the return of light snow showers and rain.

So instead, I will make soup and tomorrow some gnocchi and catch up on some letter writing and naps.

What is everyone else up to for the weekend?

Sainsbury's this morning. Tomorrow is Mothering Sunday, so I'll go to see my mum. Clocks go forward to BST tonight, so she'll need all of her clocks and timers resetting.

Saturday swimming as usual.
Lunck with my parents.
Also started knitting a pair of feet warmers.
Talk about exciting...

Picking up my deceased cat's ashes in about an hour. I haven't vacuumed since he died and I probably should but it seems callous. Knowing his fur is still around is comforting.

Other than that, probably a load or two of laundry. I might start cleaning up in the extra bedroom which has been shut off all winter to conserve heat, but it's supposed to get very cold tomorrow so I may not, although I'd like to get it started. It's basically a library storage room but I move my bed in there for the summer to escape the street noise. It's not yet warm outside but the pointless, maniacal screaming has already begun.

Later on I'll probably mix some music, then read until I'm hungry enough for dinner. Beef stew if I'm really hungry, just a sandwich if not.

Tonight I'll watch a watch a movie (Year of the Dog or The King of Staten Island), maybe some more reading, then bed early.

Tomorrow will be the same but with the emphasis on music, reading and movies (and/or crap on Netflix), topped off with a nice wank during which I shall expose myself to strange men on the internet.

Pretty much the same as usual.

It is going to be exciting...

Get the taxes finished for the accountant...

And the underwear drawer is empty so I guess that means I should do laundry...

Turn them inside out or go commando.

Saturday morning i go to the corner shop as they get in some lovely bridies, pies and sausage rolls, bit pricey but saves me going into town.
Moving house in the near future so i'm throwing out a lot of old books and porno mags, then onto Netflix to finish off Cracow Monsters on Netflix (pure shite) and some jubbing.

Sunday i have no idea, probably nothing.

^ I just finished Ragnarok on Netflix. That was good if you're looking for something.

Agreed though the two main brothers are a bit fugly.

Yeah, David Stakston who played Magne is cute in his own way I thought. I liked his portrayal and acting. The other brother was miscast. The actor is too old for the part and yeah, fugly. Nevertheless, the show was good.

Saturday was working at the Keukenhof, Sunday (today) was church and having dinner with my mother and sister.

What are you doing at Keukenhof?

God I miss Amsterdam.

We were supposed to go to a brunch we didn't want to go to yesterday but the hosts had to cancel.

So I ended up with 2 days out in the garden and lawns cleaning up from winter and getting a start on this year's bigger projects.

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your cat. Didn't you just lose another one not too long ago? It always hurts when you lose a beloved pet.

Thank you. This loss was the worst ever, probably because of the paternal connection. I lost one in December 2020. It's hard when they're the same age because sometimes they can all go at once.

I'm not a terribly emotional person, but this one really fucked me up.

Hopefully the more you remember the great moments together, the pain and loss will soften somewhat.

It can be a wrenching loss.

But as I have said before, how lucky you were to have one another.

And from experience...I wouldn't trade a moment of pain from the loss for a moment of the joy we have shared and I am sure that neither would you.

Thank you rareboy. Every day gets a little easier.

I have my friend's Bengal here now. Cat sitting with the option to keep her. I don't expect I'll see much of her for a week, but at least there's a critter in here.

I haven't been without a pet since I was 9.
