any tips would be great thanks or some real stories

ummmmm stop eating sugar....

u'll have to detox from the bad sugars for like 2 weeks b4 the cravings stop

do cardio... walking.. running... biking... whatever.... everyday for a at least a half hour (on top of the excercise you already do)

do you suggest sweetners? also thing is i walk every where and try to use excercise bike at least once a week for 20mins minimum plus weight lifting. this is why im pissed off im motivated and eager but nothing:(

what i found to be really helpful is to cut ALL soda from your eating habits. i did that and i lost about 15.5 pounds. it's okay to have something sugar, just don't go overboard with it, like eat a giant bag of candy. eat a couple and then go exercise. not like lifting weights, just go walk a half a mile, or a whole mile. just don't do what i did and starve yourself, it takes years to get back to normal, i'm still not. i'm a twenty year old. stands at 6'6 and i way 120. it took me 2 years just to get to that. hope my opinois were helpful.

i already cut drinks out just water coffee and tea with sugar which i will now cut out. i really dont understand carbs are they bad cause i thought they were slow release energy so you dont feel hungry and dont eat as much. also im veggie so i havent got a balanced diet. thanks for your help as well (*8*)

I actually managed to lose a stone (185 to 170) during six weeks with three steps 1) removing most processed sugars and switching to diet sodas. 2) Eating more healthy foods (i.e. salads, grilled meats) 3) Increasing cardio workouts to between 30-45 minutes 4-5 days a week (but don't over exert yourself if that's too much).

Weight training is good, because it increases the heart rate but cardio (I think) is definitely better for fat loss. A good session of spinning can burn up to 1,000 a day. If you want something low impact, I suggest an elliptical machine.

Also, a good diet tip is to allow yourself one "cheat day" a week. If you attempt to cut ALL sugar you're more likely to crack, binge again and just give up. If you allow yourself moderate amounts of sugar one day a week, you're more likely to keep with the diet. Like with any diet program you should set a reasonable goal and it takes a lot dedication, especially at first.

Hope that helps.

carbs are bad if you eat too much of it... and most people eat too much of it

it will go right to fat.. fat which your body burns slowly for energy

a really quick way to lose weight without actually resorting to starving yourself (which is bad) is to cut carbs out of your diet completely...

no rice..

no bread..

no potatoes...

no pasta...

no sugars...

if you do that though you have to replace it with foods that are high fibre or take some fibre suppliments or you will be pooping weird

if you can't cut carbs out then cut down drastically and only eat good carbs.. like multigrain bread

Try to control what you are eating. If you eat too much, try to see how much extra calories you have consume.

Then go burn that off by exercising. It will create a good habit, once you learn that THIS little food you ate...requires THAT much amount of exercising to burn off.

Go to my other thread "NEED MOTIVATION TO LOSE WEIGHTS" located on the top... the other people there have shared a lot of things that I find are great suggestions to lose weights.

this whole low or no carbs thing doesn't hold water imo. Calories are calories, regardless of form. Eat less calories and be more active.

Weight training is good, because it increases the heart rate but cardio (I think) is definitely better for fat loss.

Actually, cardio increases the heart rate more than lifting. But yes, I'd probably agree that cardio is better for fat loss.

My only advice is to just "do more". What the more is, doesn't matter as much. But if you are just sitting around, food sounds like a good idea. If you are busy, you don't have time to eat as much. Just my thoughts with no scientific backing.

Think of 40/40/20 diet with proper nutrition and what clean foods and carbs really are. For your sugar fix, get strawberries. Do you realize whole carton of strawberries is like 125 calories?

Dude, that is extremly unhealthy for you. That weight needs to go up by at least thirty pounds, I am surprised You haven't had a heart attack or stroke - none the less. You're looking at kidney, liver, and major heart problems before the age of 30 if you keep that weight down like that.

And Marstons123, I was at the same situation you were at, this time last summer. So this is what I did, go out and get a giant case of water and may that be your drink for the rest of the summer, and eat slower, and less. Don't eat anything after you have had dinner, and try eat a piece of fruit or vegetables every 3-4 hours. Also look for a genuine vitamin pill that you can take everyday, this will help your body in losing the weight.

Also, if you haven't worked out at all...start small. Maybe for the first week run about 15 to 20 minutes, create a cd or playlist on your MP3 player of all the upbeat music you love, and run on flat ground if you can. Then the second week, add on ether 5 minutes or a song's worth of running.

Do this, on and on through out the summer and you'll find out by the end of August you'll be down at least 25 to 35 pounds. I went from 302 to 268 Last summer alone...and now nearly a year later I am at my goal weight which is 230.

You can do this man, I know you can! Just do it! (!)

This week im doing something easy. My goal this week is to cut out salt or rather down. Because salt makes you retain water im drinking water more. next week i will get some fruit and cut sugar which will be hard so i plan to go easy hard easy hard so i dont feel too much pressure and crash. i also brought some soup like cup a soup thats a meal with not too many cals also i could have some bread which i plan to cut down slowly so again i dont feel too much pressure. :) thanks for your posts. Oh and these vitamins shold they be expensive or just nasty tasting cheap multivitamins?

you want to go to your nearest GNC or go to GNC's website, and order some vitamins from there, yes they can be a bit pricy, however, it does usually give you at least a 30-60 day supply for about $30-45. And read the reviews on the site or ask a store person to help you.

Also, really try and eat alot of proteins and fibers, soups are okay...but when losing weight you need to keep up the electrolytes (water), proteins (meats) and fibers (your daily greens).

And when you are working out, you can go to this website http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/jumpsite/calculat.htm
and it will tell you how much you can burn in the total duration of your work out.

Good luck mate!

Several years ago I weighed 350 lbs. I was 5'7" tall . I got down to 190 just by drinking eight glasses of water per day and power walking about 1 1/2 miles every day ...
I moved to the country where BIG dogs ran loose in the neighborhhood and no one did anything aboput it ...so i regained about 80 pounds ... BUT ; I've been doing better since I'm back in the city and am down to 231 lbs. .... and shedding more ... I want to get back to 180 or so and I'll be happy ....
Does anyone know about this "Hoodia" that is advertised everywhere ?

6'6" and 120lbs is an unhealthy low weight. The damage caused by that is almost completely dependant upon HOW he obtained such a low weight.

you need to keep up the electrolytes (water), proteins (meats) and fibers (your daily greens).

actually, water has no electrolytes and will wash electrolytes out. That's why gatorade was invented. But I'm not recommending gatorade unless your doing long hours of strenuous activity. A simple healthy diet should take care of electrolytes.

Vitamins... I'd just get a good multivitamin. I use stresstabs and have for years. Like here (see the box, I know nothing about the seller)

On vitamins, be careful of those with vitamin D, A, K or E. These are all fat soluble and therefore excesses can build up in the body and become toxic. The rest all get peed out in urine. Unless you have a bad diet (or certain medical conditions/medications) , you should get plenty of D, A, K and E already.

ive decided to take a longer time in doing this cause cutting out salt is getting hard weiredly. theres no point in rushing this i will get bored in no time. i actually walked. 2 miles home the other day cause i ran out of money and couldnt get the bus :(. and I have lost a pound this week and am wearing my pedometre. no where near 10,000 steps though average of 6,000 which isnt bad cause i use the exercise bike also.
