Have any of you used Weight Watchers for Men? Did you like it? Was it helpful in reaching your goals?

I hopped on the scales this morning and finally admitted that I need to shed a few pounds. ](*,) I know the holiday season isn't exactly the time to start such a regime, but I'm all psyched up about it, so now is the time. I never used to have a problem with weight, but my metabolism seems to be changing. I know what I have to do (and how to do it) but I might need a little help...

I am not aware that such program exists... I should check it out.

No, it did not work for me. I've lost 67 pounds over the last two years by watching what I eat and working out 5 times a week. I now weigh less than I did when I graduated high school :-)

Here's some suggestions I have:

1. Join a gym
2. Throw 95% of your junk food away
3. Give up soda, it'll amaze you how much weight you can lose
4. Set achievable goals
5. Weigh yourself at the same time each week to monitor your progress
6. Have a support group.

Best of luck to you.

WW definitely works. I started out using it and going to the meetings for a little over a month. After that I stopped going to meetings, but still followed the points counting. It worked really well until eventually I learned what normal eating was like and stopped doing points all together. I've been lookin thin for almost 2 years now? It definitely will give you the tools you need to succeed.

Just make sure you're ready to do it, ready to learn, and ready to change your life.

I checked it out tonight, and it looks like it might be worth it. I kind of like the idea of having everything on-line, and their point system (from what I've heard) is pretty easy to follow.

Good for you!!!! Losing 67 pounds is great! You should be proud of yourself!!! It's amazing what a little exercise and a proper diet will do for a guy!

I'd like to shed maybe 20 pounds, and then get myself back into shape. I used to frequent the gym 4 times a week, but now that I live in a rural area, that isn't possible. Guess maybe it's time to consider putting some workout equipment in here at the house.

I'm glad you mentioned giving up soda. I don't drink the stuff (not even the diet) but you're right, the stuff is loaded with sugar! The best thing is water - and lots of it!

My diet is so/so... I don't watch what I eat like I used to... My biggest problem is at night when my other-half is at work... me and cat get the late night munchies, and pretty soon I've worked myself halfway through a bag of chips! #-o

Admitting the problem is half the battle... right?

Thanks for the info, and congrats on WW working so well for you! I'm thinking (as you've probably gathered) of joining their on-line program. I don't eat as well as I should, and I think their points system would be a good way to change that and start me down the path of good nutrition again.

It really is a committment and a life-changing one at that! Congratulations on your success, and thanks!!

One of the simplest yet most efficient "tricks" - if you regularly consum sweet soda/popdrinks :)
