Hey guys, I know its been quite some time since I posted on this site. I didn't know if I would ever be able to post on the coming out portion of this site but here I am. I finally came out to my parents about a week ago. I have always been shy and I didn't really think that I could I just bring this up point blank, but at the same time I didn't feel like I could grow anymore as a person until I started being honest with them. So one night I just started writing this letter and I just spoke from the inside out about how I was feeling and that I was in fact gay and after a few days I got up enough nerve to make sure that they got it. They took it much better than even I had thought. Now at least I can completely be myself with them and that feels good. So anyway I just wanted to share that news with you guys. :D
 
That is so awesome. You must feel very liberated and strong for doing that. I am glad that your parents are supportive to you.

I'm glad your parents handled it well. Coming out can sometimes be a real bummer.

Congratulations! It's always a tough personal decision if and how to come out. I'm thrilled yours went well. It's such a liberating feeling not having to pretend any longer, isnt it?
 
Hey guys thanks for the great responses. As for the details the basics were that they said they already knew or at least the were pretty sure, which was fine with me. At least then it wasnt like a total shock. Once again thanks for the responses!

(although your parents reacted a lot better than mine who threatened to have me kidnapped - I was 19 - and taken to a doctor to have me fixed. they didn't. we're fine now)
