Well, I Overtipped.

So, I went out for dinner with my brother this evening; sat in the lounge part of the restaurant and was served by quite the cute waiter.

The service was generally very good, he was talkative and prompt and very friendly (and actually, very gay [Facebook confirmed that, so my GayDar isn't actually broken]), so I ended up being incredibly generous with my tip....It may be the single largest tip I've ever actually given.

Sadly, we didn't pay him directly, so I wasn't able to enjoy the look of surprise he would have gotten...but oh well, I am a happily committed man, you know...

Still doesn't mean I'm not slightly weak willed...

So, anyone else over-tip when they're just generally attracted to their server?

I tip overgenously based on service and demeanor. If you were a greatt server and made me laugh, expect a hefty tip. This happens with women a bit more than men, so I'm guessing there's no "hottie" surcharge attached. Biggest tip I gave was $60 on $100 or so.

I tip using a complex formula which takes many factors into consideration including the level of service, the status of the establishment, the overall experience, and the heat level of the waiter. Often the heat level of the waiter will be the predominant variable in the equation (especially if I get his number).

A bunch of my family has, at some point, been in the service industry so I always tip very well. I don't think I tip better based on a person's looks.

I am currently serving at a restaurant and you'd be amazed at hoe people tip. It's actually very sickening, these people get good service - ask for a million things and then leave you a 10% tip. It makes me want to go out to them and give them the money and say "You obviously need this more then I do, here you go."

Yes, I have tipped more if I find the waiter attractive. It's certainly not the only reason why I would leave a large tip, but it's one of them.

Bad service. Just means to me that that the server is having a bad day.

I tend to tip around 20% unless the service was subpar....though I do have to admit once or twice being smitten by servers
who did a very good job at their job as welland tipping at least 25%.I don't lose my head like that as a matter of course,though!

I've never been much of an overtipper, but when I was a waiter I was always the overtipped.

In contrast to what NaughtyArousal, since I was a waiter once, if you don't do a decent job you won't get a dollar out of me.

I tip fairly well as a general rule, but I have way over-tipped in the past when the waiter was particularly cute. Yes, I'm a whore.

I over-tip all the time.

Although I once personally gave a very good-looking homo server a 2 cent tip and told him that I hoped that someone would slap the attitude out of him one day.

For me it is about demeanour.
