Well I'm Movin' on Up . .

. . to the West Village. To put it more succinctly, into a sixth floor corner apartment in what is probably the tonyest of tony neighborhoods in lower Manhattan.

I got evicted on January 1st. Nothing like being nearly penniless and facing homelessness to show you who your true friends are. Luckily one of them stepped up and agreed to take me in. He's in poor health with mobility issues so I'll be helping him out in exchange for rent.

For reasons I won't get into, it's going to be hell. He can be difficult, but so can I. But it will be worth it to get out of this shit neighborhood and finally get some money in my pocket. I can finally get a new computer and toss this fucking phone in the river. Trying to do stuff online (like posting here) with a smartphone is like hiking in skis. Or switching out toilet paper for aluminum foil. Ridiculous.

My new neighborhood is so full of over-cultured over educated liberals that if I placed a ping pong ball on the floor in the apartment it would roll westward. Nevertheless, it's so Caucasian down there that I should be safe when the gestapo rolls into town later this week. For a while, at least.

I know the feeling about the computer... I'm using one that is long past the sell-by date...and it's less and less usable. I have contemplated moving to a smart phone, but really don't like the idea--past the fact that phone is probably more easily done.

Of course, many here would probably love it if I shifted to a phone, since there is a good chance I'd stop posting here...

The ping pong ball refers to the fact that it's so liberal down there that the ground actually slants left. Bad joke. My apologies
