  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Well, it's Friday night. Are YOU going out???

Last regular-season home game of the year. Luckily, we've got at least one playoff game at home this year.

^ I always thought of lacrosse as a New England/mid-Atlantic sport. Is it that popular out in Colorado?

I'm going home to pack for my trip to Napa Valley with my BF tomorrow. I get the feeling that he will get drunk Saturday night and then spend 2-3 days recovering like a pansy and then subsequently bitch that I don't care about how his needs because he is anti-fun.

Over to a friends' since i'm back in GA for the moment.

Today is my birthday. I wasn't asked out today, and I am short on funds,so I will cook a special dinner for one and curl up with Alfred Hitchcock movies on cable tonight.

It is. DU (the University of Denver) has had a strong lacrosse program for decades. The indoor lacrosse league had a faltering team - the Washington Power - about a decade back. They were doing so poorly they couldn't afford to turn on the Jumbotron at games. They chanced a move of the franchise to Denver, with the hope that with a strong DU presence, the team might eventually get some people to show up.

They didn't have to wait long. The last Power game in Washington drew about 1000 fans. The first Mammoth game (as the team was renamed) in Denver drew just shy of 17,000. In fact, they had to delay the start of the game to allow the huge lines of people into the venue. The team has never drawn less than 12,000 since.

Sometimes, you have to be your own party. I know I've had to do it. :)

So my mom entreated my BF and I to dinner tonight which amusing in it of itself. In my "random mix" I had the Game of Thrones theme pop up in my car which was just LOLz. Then with dinner I had a gin and tonic (the gin was beefeater which I cannot stand. Should have asked what they use but oh well) and all I can taste was the gin. I couldn't even finish the drink it was too potent.

Edmonton 14 Colorado 11. It wasn't even that close. My team didn't really show up tonigt. At the bar now waiting to meet the players (and meet their embarrassed gazes). I'll get a photo and post when I get home.

Went to see "The Cabin in the Woods" with some friends. Now, it's time to watch my show.

nothing exciting other than catch up on my shows and photoshop throughout the night. i'm not very exciting lol.

Drinks after the game with not just several of the players, but the general manager (and his wife), the team massage therapist, and even the team mascot. :) It was a ton of fun, and totally made up for the less-than-stellar game.

Not my finest moment on film, but not my worst, either.

I don't believe i've ever gone out on a friday night (LOL I coulda posted that in the "Confess something that might surprise others" thread)

A friend that modeled condom use with the hubby has invited us over for dinner along with a few friends. It should be interesting! Then it's off to "Otter Night" at the Eagle!

It's game night aka build your own nachos night. Us and two other couples get together roughly once a month. We set out tortilla chips, taco meat, beans, cheeses, diced onions, salsas, etc. We each build up a pie-plate full of them, put them under the broiler for a minute or two, then chow down. Then, after a short time of laying around in a food coma, we break open the board games. Balderdash, Pictinary, Back Seat Drawing, stuff like that. Always a great time.
