  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Well, it's Friday night. Are YOU going out???

I went out. For dinner and drinks with some people from work. I am home now. I can remember when this would have been about the time my evening would be getting started. Sigh. Youth is wasted on the young.

A friend had a birthday party last night. I swore I wasn't going to stay long, but I ended up staying until almost midnight.

Li'l Bit went to Durham with a friend to see the Indigo Girls. 'Twas fantastic. :~D

Friday night, for me, was actually an opportunity to mark something off my "BUCKET LIST." I went to the "O" show [CIRQUE DU SOLEIL] in Las Vegas, something that I've wanted to do since I first saw one of their shows on TV more than 20 years ago. I didn't realize they actually have a number of different shows.

That is quite a show, for those who are inclined to see over-the-top performance art: extreme acrobatics, swimming formations, trapezes, fire, flying humans catching each other, light shows, comedy, daredevil dives, etc. The stage/set is amazing...between deep water, dry stage settings, and a seemingly infinite number of combinations including both, the set is more of a shape-shifter than Mitt Romney. (oops...haha)

The name of the show is actually a French pun..."O" sounds the same as the word eau which is, of course, water. It's probably the only word in the world which has three vowels, and sounds exactly like a fourth (unrelated) vowel.

As it is NOT a traveling show, but permanently in place at the Bellagio Casino, one would need to go to Las Vegas to see this. At least, I doubt it travels at all. Replicating the stage/set elsewhere would be almost impossible.

Speaking of wordplay, can anybody think of the 5-letter English word which, when you remove the final four letters of the word, it's still pronounced the same? (SMALL HINT, OF SORTS: I had to spend a few minutes, waiting for my turn to pick up the Cirque du Soleil ticket, at the Will Call window.)

It is a busy week and busy month. We met some friends at Secrets on Wednesday night, had a Pride event on Thursday and birthday party at Nellie's Sports Bar on Frida. last night was the Miss Adams Morgan Pageant --2,400 in drag and various other costumes (or lack thereof) supporting 10 contestants vying for the title of "Miss Adams Morgan" which brings only that honor and nothing else. Lol!

My husband does hair so it's his really usy time of year. Being on the Capital Pride board, I have to also drag him to a ton of events between now and Halloween including the 17th High Heel Race and a host of parties. Actually he drags far better than I...lol!

Friday night I went to Beck Center in Lakewood/Cleveland to see the play, The Little Dog Laughed. There were a couple of hot guys in the play who each had a couple of moments of nudity. Not only did I enjoy that, but I also enjoyed the play.

Saturday I went to see the play, Bus Stop, at Cleveland State University. There were a couple of hot guys in that as well, but no nudity. I enjoyed that play as well.

I went to both of these by myself because I have no one to go with, but it's better than sitting at home if I have the money and feel like going out.

I'm in the mood to go out dancing and JIMPSTER is spinning tonight!

I've got my homemade cocoa with cinnamon and cayenne and little marshmellows. mmmm spicy cocoa

Li'l Bit is going to a cheesy Christmas sweater party. Li'l Bit bought a terribly ugly sweater for the occasion. Last year he was more creative. He took a cookie cutter and made some Christmas-tree-shaped slices of cheese and pinned them to a sweater. (The cheese was in plastic bags.)

Since I'm single again (not my choice) I'll be whoring again tonight. The first guy that hits on me has me for the night!

It's Saturday afternoon here, but I didn't go out on Friday. I went to bed and watched the rest of the mentalist season 4 and E-Cupid on DVD. I know I'm a party animal.

I took my daughter to The Eaton Centre downtown to spend a gift certificate she got for Christmas. She treated me to fries and a coke at McDonalds. It was pretty nice.

Nope, on lortab so I can't drink anyway.

I took a walk in my hometown. Then I went to the only gay bar I know here (actually a lesbian bar), have a beer and go back to home. Tonight I was planning to meet some old friends.

Had a great Friday. We saw "Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Harmon Hall of Shakespeare Theater after an afternoon of pedicure, manicure, massage, and facial time! We changed out of our suits and ties to harnesses and joined friends at the DC Eagle! lol! The hubby said we went from one costume to another. Had great drinks, enjoyed friends from Florida who were visiting, and returned home early this morning. Today has been a rather blah day with rain, snow, gray skies, and cold. I guess it's time for the gym, perhaps a movie, and then dinner at CityZen.
