Any sugestions?
We're looking to spend between 15000 and 20000 so the sky is the limit for used trucks.
We've seen a couple Nissan Frontiers that we like as well as a Toyota Tundra and the usual suspects from GM, Ford and Dodge. The Nissan Titan is awsome but pricey.
This is not going to be a daily driver but used for winter commuting for my partner ( his 350Z Roadster just isn't meant for snow) and house hold hauling. You know, runs to Home Depot and Lowes, the town dump and yard clean up. Let me know guys!

I will never buy another nissan product, they told me I needed my motor replaced in my 2001 frontier crew cab with 61,000 miles on it, and they were going to charge me 8,000 to do it, I told them to shove it. I took it to a specialist and said it was a common misdiagnosis and they pull it all the time, cleaned out the oil chutes and the motor was fine. 2,000 later, the problem was fixed. To me, it's not just about reliability it's about service, and they had none, no one would help me even though the mechanic told me it was a common problem from nissan, but since it was out of warranty they wouldnt do anything about it. My family has always had good luck with chevys and fords, no complaints, I dont like dodge or chrystler though.

The Tundra is best but no truck is really that good in the snow 4X4 or not the back end is too light. We have a ranger 4x4 & a honda accord - the accord runs circles around the truck in bad weather.

thank the stars of the universe, the spirit in the sky and any thing else - I am so glad that I take the bus and use the subway - no freaking gas headaches, no parking headaches, no nothing

I have a couple of old pick-ups for sale -- and they're in your price range, too!

You can buy a new Nissan or Chevy Colorado 2WD p/u for $16,000 with a full warranty. Why buy someone else's problems when you buy a used vehicle?

I agree with SinfulSimon. Go for a Toyota-- mine is 19 years old and still getting me around. Look for a 4WD if you're concerned about driving in snow...|

just don't get the Ford Ranger....stay away...lol....drove a 1994 Ford Ranger up until this summer and I was glad to be rid of it....I put more money into it than it was worth....

Chevy...just be sure to check the ball joints.

sorry RL. . .I don't care who you are, but that was funny right there!!

Thanks for the advice guys.
Good to know about the Nissan Frontier. There's been a couple of those we've been interested in.
I was on line last night looking at the dealer's website where I bought my car and get it serviced. They had a 2003 Frontier fully loaded for about 16000 and a Ford F-150 for about the same price.
As for the two offered here by Rational...um...we'll pass. The b/f has a phobia regarding snakes;)

ask a lesbian.....oohhh...that was bad...Sorry...I have seen rudy de la mor perform too many times. ;)

"Get ready!"

"Imagine that!"

"No, No, STOP!"

"Isn't that special!"

"Wash your hands!"

"Queens are so cruel!"

"Wait! I have an idea!"

"Well, aren't you dumb!"

"The queen strikes again!"

"Smell it before you bite it!"

"What a voice! What a voice!"

"Don't cry for me, West Covina!"

"A clean queen is a happy queen!"

"I love your shirt. It's from SEARS!"

"I'm just kidding!" ............. (Bull*@#!!!!)

"********, tell a queen,..........TELL RUDY!"

"The doctor said I was fat. (Gasp)..........NO!"

"In California, you're what we call OBVIOUS!"

"I'm a big fat queen, but I'm an HONEST queen!"

"Please don't fall down. We don't have insurance!"

"Pay attention woman! This is not a bowling alley!"

"Beauty can only go so far, and YOU'RE at the edge!"

"You're so cute, I'd like to kiss your _____ as a friend!"

"If someone hurts you deep, deep, deep.........be grateful!"

"I never wear leather. It makes me look like a tether ball!"

"Woman, where is your husband? He's in another gay bar!"

"Don't give me attitude, queen. This is not West Hollywood!"

"With your looks and my money, we can honeymoon in Pomona!"

"You should never wear white. It makes you look like a cauliflower!"

"Are you a gay girl? I know you are because there's a truck parked outside!"

So do you need a truck or is it more of an image thing? Car and car based 4 wheel drives do function better in the snow. But if you have to get a truck Toyotas are the most reliable.

Yeah we really need a truck. We have a bunch of landscaping projects coming in the Spring that will require hauling away brush and small trees plus carrying in crushed rock, loam and such.
It's not going to get used much but at least we'll have for whenever we'll (or somebody else) need it. Plus over the winter there's going to be some interior projects that will require some hauling. So there's deffinate need.
Doens't have to be dually rear wheeld cowboy caddilac more along the lines of a gentlemen's ranch wagon.

I have a Nissan and don't think they come any better than that, but I have been very impressed with Ford F-150's for off road use. Always make sure your trucks are well-weighted when you drive on snow and ice.

I have a Jeep. I like it. It's a cool car. Too many sentences?

My dad a a Toyota and it laster 4EVER! The damn thing wouldn't die. It just kept going and going and going.

Has anyone else heard that Nissan has been experiencing some quality problems of late?
