I had a friend on the school council, who have access to the votes in such events, and I found that I lost the title "Most Musical" by only a couple votes. Thing is, I wasn't popular at all, just that most people in the school knew me because of my 'lunchtime piano recitals' in the auditorium.

i made it only to class vice-president, but then, i was voted to get controll over the money as well

that was in the 2nd last year of my highschool and then i started to bash the (female) class president all the time and in the last year i failed to become class president by only ONE vote :/
