Hey guys!

This might be in the wrong forum. I'm planning on going to my FIRST gay club in the West Hollywood area, and I'm having trouble deciding which club to go to. Anyone here have any tips or advice? I'm not too familiar with the clubbing scene, and I'm kind of nervous about it. I'm Asian, but I'm not a big fan of one of those all Asian gay clubs. Any suggestion for a club that's just good old fashion fun and not too pretentious (that's probably what I'm most scared of about LA clubs)? Thanks!

P.S. Maybe I can see some fellow JUB'ers there!

stay away from rage which has been labeled as the asian club...Gameboy fridays LOL.

It all depends what you are looking for I would think. In WeHO your choices are pretty much limited in terms of dancing to, cherry pop, rage, mickys and eleven...within that area but there are more all over the city

I used to love the Abbey. It is pretentious, even so it's a whole lot of fun.

Hey ya'll,

Thanks so much for the response. My weho clubbing night was okay, but it kind of fell short. The scene wasn't really poppin at the places I went to. I went to Abbey first, but since it was so early, nothing was really going on yet (we got there at freaking 10!). So then we went to Here, which we heard was good, but again there was like no one inside. Then we went to . . . RAGE, since it was the only club nearby that was somewhat kickin at the time. We had to pay 8 dollars to go in, which in hindsight really was not worth it. And then the cute straight guy bartender messed up our drink order. And the dance floor just really wasn't what I expected it to be. Just not as crazy or fun as I was anticipating. I'm thinking that maybe it was just slower than usual since it was Pride weekend down in SD. I might be going back to WeHo this Saturday though. I've heard that Eleven, Here (when it's not so damn early), and Fubar are pretty good. So I guess we'll see, right?

Well, straight people go out at 10:00, gays wait another couple hours.

No wonder you weren't impressed....

Lol. No I stayed there until around 2-230. But then every club is allowed to have an off-night, so I'm assuming it was theirs.

friday check out circus, saturday do not leave home before 11 and places to hit up are abbey (packed) rage (so so) or fubar (go go boys and also packed) best drinks abbey by far (pricey though)

rage is really not worth it anymore in my opinion, and fubar is always fun (just really small venue)

dont take it all that seriously. just try the clubs out

moutherload is always fun, fiesta cantina has good drink offer.

love mickeys, abbey, the lounge, pop stars on friday nights

only really know what u like after u go(!)

I love the abbey. Could go there everyday if i could. great service, good drinks and food, nice atmosphere, diverse, laid back crowd. The most "LA" of the bars no doubt.

Fiesta cantina is also good as it has a mostly under 30 crowd, cheaper drinks, best looking staff. It's also always jam packed and hot.
