Definitely.
My biggest beef is how gay characters are portrayed. He's either some angsty (usually closeted) twink who whines about his poor little feelings and how much he yearns for true love, or some altruist whose only purpose is to support the straight lead (doubles as the campy gay best friend if the straight lead is a woman).
We need more gay leads who lust for violence and depravity.
It's not like there isn't any material. Someone should do the Andrew Cunanan story properly. And as far as I know there haven't been any films made based on Dean Corll. Here locally, the James Rackover case was pretty funny.
But not these days. All characters in queer films have to be sickeningly pretty, perfect and supportive, and dying of [STRIKE]AIDS[/STRIKE] monkeypox but oh so brave about it.
