Well there could be some truth to this. The problem is that my ex and alot of my friends grew up in the typical nuclear family. But i have friends that grew up with just their mother and they are now gay.

I am so interested in why some boys are gay and other are not. I am open to all views in attempting to nail the reason for orientation.

Friendships based on utility are about what can I get out of the other person, and how much must I give for it?" and pleasure friendships are about enjoying someones elses company because they make you feel good. This kind of frienship is hollow though with no substance. Lastly you have friendships that involve give and take and that is the untimate friendship. When you dont expect nothing in return for a goo deed. To live a good life friendship is necessary. Do good for teh sake of your friend. Spend quality time with your frends. Just share equality.

It has become apparent that an ex friend of mine was just into the pleasure aspect. I turned him down and he has stopped talking to me. So he wasnt a true friend and in that case i do not need him in my life.

Isn't this an admission that he can't "cure" Haggard and is using the excuse that he doesn't have time to do it? Also, if he was a close friend of Haggard, he HAD to have known that he was gay, and if so, why didn't he start a "cure" a long time ago? This Dobson character is utterly despicable.

As far as Haggard has explained, he's always battled with homosexuality. IE he was never 'not gay' to begin with.

Well, the "restoration" they're talking about isn't the same as reparative therapy, which is what Focus on the Family touts. "Restoration" is a Charismatic Christian sorta-thing, not so much psychological as spiritual, conducted by friends of the restoree, and it does take a lot of time on the part of the restorers. Proponents of "restoration" say about 50% of the restor-ees drop out.

There may be reparative therapy also, but that's not always part of a "restoration".

And, by-the-by, I'd wager 15 years and one more major crisis before Haggard comes out as a gay man, and he won't be happy until 20 years hence. Wanna bet on it?
