What do people here think about the allowing of Desmond Napoles, an 11 year old boy, to be a "drag queen"? I had originally started a thread about this a few days ago, but the moderators wouldn't allow it because the video showed an 'under age' child.

But I am wondering what people think about the boy's parents allowing this kid to perform as a drag queen, and even being seen 'stripping' (not fully) while also taking money off members of the audience.
I am not here to judge, but am very curious your views, for or against, and explanation why you agree or disagree with it.

He is a force of nature.

He is following and celebrating his dream and passion.

This is no different than Mama June pushing Honey Boo-Boo on nationwide television or soccer moms going to great lengths to eliminate the 'competition'.

My wife and I used to watch a program called 'Toddlers and Tiaras', a reality program about toddler beauty pageants where the kids were dressed up and competed just like adult beauty pageants. From everything I have read of the industry, the competitions are very cut throat and the parents go to ridiculous lengths to win. It should really be considered child abuse. Thus I am always concerned about the dangers when underage children become involved in normally adult activities particularly when there is a sexual connotation to it.

That said, Desmond seems to be doing what he wants to do and as Rareboy observed has a passion for it. That being the case, he should be allowed to pursue his passion but I hope that his parents and friends are involved and making sure that he is protected from potential abuse.

His mother is no Mama June.

She is a person who recognized that from a very young age...her son loved drag and instead of trying to eat it out of him or suppress it as a little private fetish, realized that her son was a butterfly.

Until she is exposed as being an horrendous monster trying to cash in on her son's passion....she seems to be the kind of supportive parent that thousands of repressed gay boys wish they had.

How can you say he is not exhuding sexuality? The mods won't even allow his YouTube videos here because it sexualizes children. So bizarre. I've watched a few of his videos and he is clearly stripping. Watch his Gwen Stefani rendition of I'm Just a Girl and he clearly removes a shirt and flings it.

You sound fairly judgmental.

Are you sure it's HIS dream and passion he's following? What if, next year, he wants to do porn, should we support that too? Sex is a force of nature too, ya know.

I played one of his videos to my daughters and they were stunned. His behaviour may be acceptable to older gay men, but not to the general public.

What about the father, did you see him? He looks like he might enjoy have a preteen boy girating around the house peeling off his clothes.

Mikey has decided he's the decider. I love the way he leapt directly to porn - we all know drag leads to man on dog...

Mikey, having daughters leads to abortion, you're doomed.

Any grown man who thinks having a prepubescent boy sexually girating on stage and discarding his clothes for $$ is a very disturbed individual, and deserves any hate flung his way.

While I don't personally see anything wrong with letting kids who wanna wear drag do drag. I do consider it highly suspect when letting a kid basically do a striptease or to perform in adult clubs where alcohol is served. By all means if a little boy wants to do drag have at it but don't sexualize him.

FYI it's gyrating.

He looks like he'd like it? That's nice coming from someone that half the world thinks the same thing about. Saying that doesn't help your argument at all.

Dude, I don't have an argument, just stating an opinion. And if you believe that half the world thinks gays are pedophiles, man you guys have your work cut out for you then.

If you, as a gay man, don't agree with trans children gyrating on stage, in full make-up, removing clothes for drunk adult men, and being paid for it, then you should use your voice. The few members on here who encourage it send shivers down my spine. To be a trans youth is one thing, fine, but being allowed to feed the fantasies of grown gay men on stage for $$ is totally different. Eww. I'd walk out.

And sometimes the determination of an opinion is painfully obvious.

I would find this concerning too if true. The little I've seen and heard of him is at pride events. If he is performing in adult clubs for money then his parents are irresponsible. Again, if it is true since I'm also sure that would be illegal and cost the venue its liquor licenses as well as getting the owner and parents charged with child abuse.

I have looked up, and as best I could, reviewed the stories, video clips, and information on Desmond Naples. I do not approve, feeling that the boy is being exploited. He certainly should not appear at gay pride parades. Let him decide such things when he is older. Sometimes in our attempt to be "accepting" we fall short of the mark and it can hurt, rather than help.
