what are poppers

their actually not illegal....you can buy them pretty much anywhere as Video Head Cleaner. You inhale them and they thin the blood giving you a sense of bliss for several minutes. They help with anal sex and intensify orgasms.

They are not illegal if sold as room odourisers. It advises on the bottle that you should not sniff them or expose them to flames. The real term for them is amyl nitrate. They are designed to make you feel relaxed but often you can just get a headache after the first sniff and your heart rate goes through the roof. For gay men who find it difficult to get a cock inside their anus, it helps relax those muscles and indeed most of your muscles to make that initial entrance go smoothly. It has often been said that using poppers or any drugs during sexual intercourse lowers ones inhibitions, making you more likely to have unsafe sex.

The original poppers was a capsule of amyl nitrate, a heart drug. The name poppers comes from the popping sound the capsule made when broken. The vapour was inhaled to get a sexual high. It gives more intense orgasms. It also increases heart rate, lowers blood pressure, and can give you a bad headache. Amyl nitrate was also sold in little brown bottles. In the 1980's amyl nitrate was banned. A new formula isobutyl nitrate, came on the market. A popular brand is called "Locker Room". These are usually sold in adult book stores under the name "video head cleaner". Another name for poppers is "rush." The drug was more popular in the 70's and 80's than it is now. I've used it once in a while and it does produce mind blowing orgasms. It can be dangerous to people who are taking Viagra or have health problems.

"Eddielee" is absolutely right. What was once "amyl nitrate" is now kind of a watered down version. Amyl Nitrate WAS banned because it is dangerous. While it was ruled out as a cause, the government even investigated to see if amyl nitrate was causing HIV. It was not but the use of it was making people indulge in unsafe sex. Bottom line is that nothing that increases your blood pressure and/or thins out your blood is good for your heart unless you are a heart patient under the supervision of a doctor. I wouldn't use any of it, "watered down" or not. It is as bad, if not worse, than smoking cigarettes, which also increases blood pressure and constricts the arteries which can ultimately lead to a stroke or heart attack. Strokes are no longer labeled an "old age" problem. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death in young people...because of drug abuse and stimulants.

It's an ester (I think it's isobutyl nitrate), it's not illegal.

They cause dilation of the blood vessels and muscle relaxation, this allegedly leads to a more intense orgasm. This 'high' lasts 30 secs to 5 minutes.

They're fairly safe, compared to other things out there.

Short term, it can cause your blood pressure to fall (leading to an embarrassing faint) and nausea and vomiting. Some (very few) people are allergic to them and go into a pretty impressive anaphalactic reaction.

Long term use is vaguely associated with tumours in the nasal cavity - the jury is out on that though.

Don't forget to use condoms if you having sex (with or without poppers)

It's a vasodilator - it would cause the BP to drop.

And they don't thin the blood either.

Yeah, but not poppers; cocaine, amphetamine and ecstasy will all stick your BP up causing a stroke.

poppers stink.. or at least, the cheap shit you generally get in the US does. I've smelled some from Norway that not only smelled good but gave a rather amazing rush and no head ache.

I still hated it.

and there's nothing less of a turn-off than a guy who needs to bury his nose in a bottle of poppers when having sex.

they're ok once in a while. There are much more enjoyable drugs out there.

I was under the impression that you should already be having a sense of bliss for several minutes without the poppers

I don't see it so much as a turn off, it just gets annoying.
I've tried poppers a few times, never did much for me anyway.

yeah...the 'locker room' or 'rush' stuff can give you a bit of a cheap
high....But, it's hardly worth it.

For me, it made my face turn bright red and gave me a hell of a headache.

I never did understand why that would make you cum harder...but, I guess
it does for some people.

not just an ester, but a nitrogen ester! Completely irrelevant, sorry I enjoy chemistry too much sometimes. If I could draw it using this text I would.
