The original poppers -- amyl nitrate -- were awesome. The junk they sell these days is a poor imitation. Save your money.
 
I've tried poppers. Mostly out on dance floors; not while having sex. Not worth the health risks if you ask me.

I feel the same about Ecstasy; it's a great feeling while having sex, but I won't do it anymore.

Jerk clarification: Their legality depends on their use, at least in California. Read: If you get caught using them to get high, or have used them to get high, then you can go to jail.

[California passed a number of anti-huffing laws due to the number of deaths due to huffing, and so the legislature here passed some laws in that regard. Keep in mind that when it comes to the law, YMMV!]

I've tried them a couple of times. It's a fairly nice head-rush but nothing to write home about.

I might take them during sex if offered, but I wouldn't bring them to the party myself.
 
I like them. A lot. Sorry, but I do.

But do be aware of the risks -- take the viagra warnings seriously, and keep in mind that there is some evidence that they suppress one's immune system for several days after significant use of them. Based on my own experience, I'm pretty sure the immune system does suffer quite a bit from their use -- so use them selectively if you use them at all.
 
I've never tried them; don't really want to spend the money on them.

i tried them once, weekend before last at a music festival.

takes a second to hit you then its pretty good for a couple of minutes. didnt get a head ache.

True amyl nitrate is prescription medication that is given to people with certain heart conditions...I should know because I have to carry a spray bottle around with me all the time and if I need to I spray it under the tongue.

If you are planning on using 'poppers' during sex and are also going to take a viagra or similar pill...DO NOT USE THE POPPERS as this could cause you to have a major heart attack.

No - the little red bottle that you carry around and spray under your tongue is called Glyecerine Trinitrate (or GTN Spray). The nitrate pill which you speak of is probably Isosorbide Mononitrate (ISMN). I should know because I give them to people with heart conditions.

GTN and ISMN are arterial and venal dilators - this increases the preload to the heart and increases the ejection fraction to make the heart pump stronger (Starling's law). The coronary arteries are also dilated to reduce myocardial ischaemia (angina pain).

Whilst the drop in BP may cause a heart attack, a syncopal episode or a nasty headache is much more likely.

So are you recommending that people use both poppers and viagra at the same time, or GTN spray and viagra at the same time?

No - I didn't say that, nor did I even come close to insinuating it.

During acute situations, we always find out if somebody has taken Viagra in the last 48 hours before giving them a nitrate spray or Isoket infusion for the reasons that you alluded to.

I was merely commenting that Amyl Nitrate is different to GTN or ISMN, however, their effects when combined with Sildenafil are similar in nature, but not in severity.
