Ipad costs too much money 499 like omg! it reminds me of a bigger ipod touch

I went to Best buy and they dint have much our best buy is tiny so we lack a lot of stuff she show me the samsung ones and they were too high

Staples have a tablet pc thing and it was very heavy and huge

The iPad is your only option until about the middle of 2011.

Nothing on the market right now (outside of the iPad) is worth considering.

For three years prior to the launch of the iPad, everyone knew Apple was working on a tablet PC. It has now been a year since the iPad's detailed specs were announced. And still, there is no iPad competitor. Nor will there be for some time yet.

It's amazing.

^ I agree. Current iPad competitors are poor second cousins.

You get what you pay for. If the iPad is too expensive, wait 6 months for the real Android competitors to show up in the market. Plus, new model iPads are expected March/April.

WOW i did not know ipad was the best thing to get, I remember people complaining that the Android apps wasn't working on the bigger screen tablets

I think im going i will wait until the future to get one

Android tablets will be coming in full force next year, but right now the only one which is decent is the Samsung Galaxy Tab. However, applications are still being tweaked to suit the much larger screen.

Once Android Honeycomb (version 3) comes out next year, we'll see much better tablets coming out.

The Galaxy tab has a 7 inch screen with 1024 x 600 resolution. The iPad has a 9.7 inch screen with 1024x 768 resolution. Some people like the Galaxy Tab's smaller size (you can fit it in a coat pocket) but the iPad's bigger screen is better for surfing.

Like the iPad, the Galaxy tab has no usb ports.

The Galaxy Tab does have more RAM than the iPad (512 MB vs 256 MB), two cameras, a microSD card slot, multitasking, and Flash capability.

But the big problem with the Galaxy Tab is the price: $650 with a contract from AT&T or T-Mobile or $885 unlocked without contract. Compare that to as little as $476 for an iPad without contract (wifi version only). (There is no wifi only version of the Galaxy Tab).

I mean a much larger screen in comparison to a phone, which is what Android apps are suited for. I'm a supporter of the Galaxy Tab! Haha I can't wait to see it running Honeycomb.

However, I can't wait to see some Tegra-2 tablets.. And some dual-core Cortex A9 chips put into tablets next year (well, if the dual-core A9 is ready by next year as projected). :-)
