What are the biggest advantages of being gay?

I am a gay man. I don't have any female friends. There are no fag hags or fruit flies in my life. There is no need for the encumbrance. I keep my interaction with my siblings at an absolute minimum.

Just an observation-- there's definitely an undercurrent of resentment or dislike for women going on here. And it may be coloring your view. Something to think about.

I don't resent or dislike females. I just have no use for them. When I was younger I tried the whole fag hag/fruit fly thing like, I think, most newly out of the closet guys do. I think wanting a female around is a vestigial leftover from the dominate heterogeneous society. I find that most guys that are stuck in that rut have issues with their homosexuality.

I outgrew it. I know a lot of guys that still cling to their hags et al. I am not saying there is anything wrong with it. It just isn't for me. I find having female friends very tiring and an enormous waste of valuable time.

I work with a lot of females. I am not impolite or indecorous to any of them. Neither do I let them think I want to associate with them in anything other than a business context.

To me 'fag hag' isn't just 'any female friend of a gay guy'.... it's a chick who is friends with you because you are gay.

None of my female friends are fag hags.

My friends call me a friend. If gay is used as a modifier I have no problem with that. You say "the gay friend" like it is an insult. I am gay. If my straight friend wished to distinguish my sexuality to others then so be it. I got over being timid of the gay label years ago.

I'm a guy and I like guys. It is pretty clear cut. My best friend is straight. I cannot ever recall his introducing me as his gay friend.

I'm older than you apparently think... I've been in the "real world" for 12 years... so nope!

Getting in late on this thread, but anyhow ... read some really good advantages (didn't read all threads - too many!).
I like the fact that in warm weather you see plenty of guys walking around with their shirts off, so us gays get an EYE FEAST of HOT Torsos!
That's the straight equivalent of girls getting around with their tops off!

Plus, at work, I get to make fun of me liking cock whenever I want to shock a homophobe. Don't get me wrong, my work colleges know I'm cool with them cracking gay jokes and we are often in tears laughing when the others don't know where to look.
