Inspired by Vannie's post of very early this morning:
Woke up from a dream of one of my dead Aunt's feeding me some kind of chicken skewers next to a lively brook.

I thought this would be a good Hot Topic.

My weirdest dream featured a small fleet of fishing boats, Indira Gandhi, and a dachshund.

My weirdest dreams always involve my dead parents and grandparents and very complex situations in the house and neighbourhood I grew up in...kind of.

The most common bizarre ones are where I am having to take elementary school or secondary school courses because I missed some and my professional degree isn't valid without them...but I often miss going to classes or even studying any of the course material.

And the most raucous are the ones like last night where I am involved in the middle of a devastating war or some kind of murderous vendetta...and I have had variations on this since I was 5 or 6 years old.

It is hard for me to remember any dreams after a few days but I used to have nightmares about a drag queen I worked with for years.

We were frenemies. I remember her and a whale and a pirate in one dream but can't remember what or why but I do remember it was scary (almost as scary as her:eek::giggle:).

I've had the usual dreams like
-walking through a narrow space
-being naked in school
-going back to high school to complete a failed semester
-trying to walk or run but I can't move
-missing the train

but the weirdest one was a dream with tiny capsules that would explode and make different things appear. If you know Dragon Ball, you know what I'm talking about

Mine are so weirdly random. Strange unknown room or location outside. Sometimes sadness or deaths. Sometimes celebrations with people that are dead 30 years ago. I used to have great dreams of being able to fly. Mostly at night over lighted cities. Scary but so cool.

I don't remember any specific dreams, but I used to have some where I couldn't complete something, especially at school or work. Also I often had dreams where I was downtown. I live in the suburbs but worked downtown most of my life.

I had this weirdest dream last night. It was of my friend Mary that died 3 years ago.
She had came back to life. I asked her, Mary you died. She said I know.
I am allowed to come back to be with you.

It was so strange.

One thing I've noticed is that I seem to have bathroom dreams just before I wake up in the middle of the night having to pee. The other night I dreamed that I was in a bathroom with nobody else in there, and I whipped it out. Suddenly there appeared this frumpy middle-agish type woman, and I was embarrassed to be in front of her. "Oh, sorry ma'am." Where did she come from? The coast was clear when I went in there.

Backagain's dream reminds me of a dream I had some years ago, shortly after my Mother had died. I dreamed that I saw my Father, who had died some years before, sitting in a chair he frequently sat in while he was alive. I looked at him and said "You're not supposed to be here," and he vanished in front of me.

Well, that was obliging of him.
Was he that cooperative when he was alive?

I haven't been "in school" in more than 53 years, and dreams set in a school of some kind are STILL common. Often I have trouble finding the room, or keep FORGETTING to get to some morning class.

I'll dream that I'm in some place/city that I know well in real life, but the dream inserts canyons, wilderness, ocean-side, strange twisty streets, etc. that don't have any resemblance to real life. I mean, Ann Arbor, Michigan does NOT have canyons and caverns on the U. of Michigan campus or downtown, and Memphis isn't on the ocean!

The strangest (AT LEAST OF THOSE I CAN REMEMBER) involved me finishing with an errand in Evansville, Indiana and getting into an argument with the guy in the carpark booth who was quoting me $2 instead of the 50 cents prescribed by the sign. I told him that if he insisted on the $2, I would wake up and he would cease to exist. If he let me pay the 50 cents (because I was there only a few minutes, not more than half an hour), I would continue dreaming and leave the lot, and he'd be out of the picture and he'd continue to lead the life that he wants.

He still insisted on the $2, so I immediately woke up, lol.

Seriously? You actually saw that in your dream? So lucid dreaming really does exist!

I do that, too. That weird dream I mentioned in the opening post -- the one featuring a small fleet of fishing boats, Indira Gandhi, and a dachshund -- also featured a 30-foot-high riverside cliff -- in Charleston, where what's alongside rivers is usually marsh. What's more, the stone that made up that cliff was so full of holes and indentations that I could clamber up the side of it as if it were a ladder.

So last night I dreamt that I was having to review proposals for a project and they were each about 200 pages...and I had to copy them on a Xerox massive printer that was malfunctioning but it was also an MRI that needed a good cleaning and I had to do that too.
