Attention What are you doing at the moment? 2022-2023

Recovering from my New Year's drug binge.

Been smoking 5-MeO-DMT freebase and then took some newly purchased kratom.

The night before yesterday there was a brief chemsex trio on GHB and then another date where my host was on T.

The first one was organized by a guy who I had had chemsex with once before, also before he had to work that morning. It was only 2 1/2 hours long, and although the sex was brief, it was good and the host and his other guest handsome, it was ended by the host fairly brusquely, which made me feel I might not be interested in a repeat in the near future.

After that, I decided to have another date and cycled to another guy who was smoking chems, who also had to work shortly later that morning so our date was only half an hour and he smoked what little he had left himself.

Finished posting some comments on another thread here talking about video tape... Memories of formats long gone that no normal person even cares about any more. But then, who said anything about me being normal?

Considering... should I skip church? Not at home now, didn't manage to sleep all night and it's a cold trip through Amsterdam.

Just opened a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling cider to drink, pretending it's New Year's Eve Champagne. Most recent years, I've had sparkling wine...usually California "Champagne." Nothing says Happy New Year! like a bottle of Andre. But I haven't been drinking alcohol recently, and decided I wouldn't make New Year's Eve an exception. Actually, it seems pointless doing anything... It's not like 2020, when I was happy to have sparkling wine on 12/31--not to celebrate the new year, but celebrate the fact that 2020 was finally over.

Then, I couldn't resist trying this one cider. Usually, I avoid cider--figuring it's basically pure sugar water--but what the heck? It's New Year's Eve! And at least I won't have a hangover tomorrow.

Sitting down after making meat pies, doing a laundry and baking some cheese tarts....and feeling like shit because a cold is coming on.

And my partner is in the same state.

We are supposed to have a duck a l'orange for diner tonight but niether of us are feeling like it.

I have organized a ZOOM new year's call with the family across the country so I have to be able to function until 2pm when it is over and then I am off to bed.

How was the cider? Happy New Year to you.
Thanks! Happy New Year!

The cider...well, let's put it this way... I'll finish the bottle off. But I don't think I'll be buying it again.

Or putting it another way, the label made it sound better than the reality!

Of course, I have had the same experience happen with sparkling wine. In a way, the best "Champagne" experiences were the times I did Andre. No, the stuff isn't particularly good--but I had low expectations going in, so there were no disappointments!

Currently have some vegetable soup cooking. So much for a special dinner for New Year's Day, i guess!

Today, I decided I'd use a slow cooker. I was able to get my act together so I could get it started early enough. Often, it seems like my cooking is "last minute rush."

My mother used a slow cooker for vegetable soup--it was the only thing I remember her using the slow cooker for. I'm doing the soup much the way she did it, so I guess it'll be a nostalgic dinner. Unfortunately, it won't be quite the same--I haven't been able to recreate what I remember.

I think maybe I should use a slow cooker more...but maybe that's influenced by seeing a cheerful, bright red CrockPot at Goodwill that sort of whispered: "Please adopt me!" as I walked by the other day... (On a practical note, it's a better size for a single person than the one I'm using today. I kept chopping and chopping and chopping vegetables--and wondering when I'd finally have enough to start the soup cooking.)

I had Bloody Mary complete with horseradish and celery tree that also gave me a buzz. Happy New Year me. :)

Having my first cup of coffee. I was asked to do some catering for an office luncheon for some hospital big shots.

Soon I will be rolling black forest ham into little cornucopia. :)
