I just checked your older post, and a canine was how I recall reading it when I first saw it.
 
Earlier, when barely awake and functional...

Wait...he has moments he's actually functional? the audience murmurs.

I plugged in my ancient flip phone to a power strip to recharge. And...horror! It didn't start charging. I tried a different outlet, and success. The phone lives another day!

Then...I realized that I'd forgotten to turn on that power strip I'd first tried...
 
Got a load of laundry out drying on the line.

More loads to come over the weekend. Line space is limited, so I end up doing smaller loads., which means more loads...
 
Pondering if I want to do laundry today... Too late to line dry, but the load are clothes that I wear in public, which--recent years--I've machine dried even in summer to minimize fading (plus sanitize a bit--who knows what I might be picking up when I sit on a bus seat or a chair at the library?!?).
 
Dreaming about cream pie. Only if I would have remembered to buy one when I was at the store. :(

I've been fantasizing about the carton of dairy free "ice cream" I saw yesterday...

But...I had to minimize spending so that my grocery budget can stretch the month. Maybe next month...
 
I haven't thought to look but Mom would once in a while buy a frozen Banquet pie. Graham cracker crust with various flavors of fillings. "Whipped cream" topping.
They were pretty good. It's been a long time.

Maybe send cats out to get a pie? They surely must be old enough now to start doing chores to earn their keep!

My memories have faded, but I have a sense that graham cracker crusts made from scratch might have been a preferred option for my mother. I definitely remember that she disliked dealing with conventional pastry, although she was able to overcome her dislike for some things, like when she wanted to make a quiche for dinner.

Speaking of which, I ate the quiche she made--and I wonder if that's why I don't qualify as a real man. There was that 1980s book Real Men Don't Eat Quiche... :lol:
