  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What are you doing right now?

Getting ready to go in to the Doc to look at my leg to make sure I don't have to do anything else to prevent further problems.

Everything OK RB?

At the moment I'm getting annoyed because I can't multi quote for some reason.

Never heard of twice-boiled yams before.

I just moved everything from my side-by-side's freezer to the downstairs deep freeze and the extra fridge in the garage. Had gone for ice cream an hour ago and when I took it out of the freezer, it sloshed.

Total coincidence that I had been watching Rosemary's Baby.

Really.

I didn't get there. And still not sure. I may need to pursue an appt with my Doc next week. I think it is some better, but not great.....

And I can't figure out the multi-quote either so that is also making me crazy. Glad I am not the only one.

A real pain when refrigerators act up!

I remember the refrigerator freezer my parents had acted up. As I recall, we rushed some stuff to where he worked and used a refrigerator there to store it. The problem was a door fan switch. My father replaced it and it went back to normal. Although my mother said at one point *it's getting old...I wonder how much longer it'll last?* That refrigerator still ran we left the house--it was probably at least 30 years old.

Today, the part wouldn't be obtainable if the thing is more than two years old. Or it would cost as much as a new refrigerator. Or something would have be done with a special tool.

The multi-quote isn't working for me, either. I think it worked here recently. I am pretty sure I've used in on another forum that uses XenForo.

But then, I'm using Firefox right now, which may make a difference. I'm noticing more problems with Firefox in general, and I'm wondering if sites are just not interested in supporting it, since everyone uses Chrome now, apparnetly having forgotten the nightmare of the Internet Explorer monopoly. Or if Firefox has issues that need resolving.

I think I hear a fan bearing groaning at times. The fridge only cost me $400 back in 2017 when I moved here, so it's earned its keep. It wouldn't make any sense to get a repairman out for an unknown repair cost on a fridge probably 10 years old. I'm glad I have a backup fridge in the garage. I live in a two-story house with a garage and walkout basement downstairs, so it made sense to get a $200 fridge a couple of years ago to not have to bring an entire load of groceries upstairs at one time. It's also good for leftovers or extra food after a big dinner. But, it's white and my kitchen is black. So, I'll go looking today.

We have a Kitchen Aid side by side stainless unit in the kitchen and we can hear the compressor grumbling over the last year. It is only about 20 years old, but apparently, even though you can get a new compressor....there is literally no one within 60 Kilometres who can do the work...I am glad cold weather is coming because at least if it craps out, we can use coolers in the garage and the freezers downstairs.

When I woke up this morning I had been dreaming that I was socializing with some guys who were in a band and they had an upcoming show for a party and were concerned that one of their members couldn't make it. Trying to be helpful I volunteered to play the guitar in his place although I have never played a musical instrument.
Then we went for a car ride and the radio played songs that everyone sang to and enjoyed and I didn't know any of them. When the show came up I told the band leader that I couldn't do it because I didn't know how and he said just make noise, everyone will be drinking and dancing and not even notice. Then I woke up and was so glad that I didn't have to go through with the performance. I'm laughing because I am relieved that I didn't have to go through with something in a dream.

Actually, I have been to a wedding in the past where the band played fast songs fine, but when someone told them to play a slow song it was just so much scratching noise and was really annoying.
