Spent until 1:15 A.M. baking cookies for the church High Tea.

In church, it was announced that two ladies had deceased. One lady was called ´Aleka´.

The only place I´ve heard that name before was in Aleka´s Attic , River and Rain Phoenix´s band.

Just finished a good dinner of Chicken breast Scampi along with some Jasmine rice and a salad. I might not clean up. :)
 
Was enjoying working outside but I felt some raining coming in so I'm watching the remaining episodes of Ozark and checking on Jub :)
 
Just got off of a call to the county real estate tax department. They had re-evaluated our property value last year and taxed us at the new value this year. We disagreed with their valuation because there are a lot of repairs that need to be made to our property which aren't apparent from the street. We had to pay the new value tax in January but filed paperwork at the end of March contesting it and if we are found to be correct the extra amount is to be reimbursed to us back to January. We now needed to pay the increased value again in July and we haven't heard from the county yet. On my call to them they said that they have set up hearings in September for the people who filed in January and will get to the people who filed in March (as we did) later. It sounds like they won't have a hearing on our paperwork until next year and we will have to pay the increased amount again in January before we have a hearing.

Also my sister was after me to clear out some old family paperwork. We went through some paperwork for a couple of deceased relatives who we were responsible for their affairs who died in 2013 and 2021. We threw out most of the records from the 2013 death. It was depressing to throw out memories of theirs.
