  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

What are you doing right now?

Shepherds' pie in the oven.

Made with real shepherds.

Slurp.

I finally made the chicken and dressing yesterday. Took a pan to a neighbor, and froze two pans, and still had one for me.

My neighbor shared soem wonderful cranberry chutney, but also a slice of pecan pie. The pecans were rancid, a real irony since I was with her when she bought them and was glowing after paying a premium price and assuming they were this year's crop. I'll never let on that they were rank. but they were awful.

Well I tried 3 times to successfully unsubscribe from a companies email with no luck. So I emailed them about it and they sent me a survey on how my experience was unsubscribing with them.

Bahahahahahahahahaha!

A reminder to those who don't cook much that some handles cannot handle the high temps of an oven cleaning mode.

Yea you should never put pots and pans in the oven. I have forgotten they were in there in the past. And never with self cleaning mode.

Just back up from the basement. About 15 minutes ago, the storm was making noise that surely didn't sound like rain. Never heard a tornado before, but wasn't taking any chances. Scooped up Coco, put on some underwear and a shirt and headed down.

Was a good opportunity to clean the commode down there while waiting it out. I have monster trees all around the house, so any one of them could take out the house.

Heading back up the stairs, saw a wolf spider about four to five inches across. Pestered him down every step until I got him to the basement and then shooed him under the sofa down there. Coco was enamored and spent another ten minutes stalking him. As if.

Sigh.

Scary yea.

Never been close to a tornado but have had a few good storms or straight line wind storms as they call them that were very intense. Lightning split most of the trees on our block and stuff flying everywhere. We are thankful to have a basement.

Rainy day here in NJ

I was starting to plan a Christmas Day menu for the family who decided it's been a while since I cooked for them.

Listening to Renaissance lute music and getting ready to go out for dinner....wishing I could stay in and cuddle with the cats on the sofa tonight.

Fortunately, it won't be a really late night.

:rotflmao: I am glad that you posted this....because there might be some out there who would try it.

Trying to put groceries away but actually playing with the cat. I found a Best Buy gift card a few months ago so I stopped in to see if there was anything on it. $25. Just enough to buy a copy of "Nope" which I will be watching tonight.

Oooo that sounds dirty.

At the moment it is approximately 4:45 am in Bergen County NJ and a chilly 25 degrees. I can cut diamonds with my nipples. LOL

Sipping some good coffee and about to make some breakfast for Honey and I

Have a good weekend everyone and thank you all.

Rolling out of bed. Fed kitty an hour ago. Browsed 9gag, JUB, and changed avatars. Off to shower and to the office.

Weather is calming down after massive Dust Storm moves across Kansas today making zero visibility. All cell phones were triggered with an Emergency Alert (twice for my County) for the high wind and dust warning. Same type of alerts we get for tornado warnings. It is not unusual for the National Weather Service to set off their alert radios and apps on phones for bad dust or blizzard warnings. But I don't remember any Emergency Alerts (designed for National and State emergencies) going out for dust...these emergency alerts have to be approved at the State level (Emergency Management).

All these videos and photos I copied off lf Facebook but are from my area.

This link is a 1 minutes video of the dust front moving in: https://fb.watch/haztQnyckH/

This link is short 20 second video from of dust storm making zero visibility quickly on Interstate 70:
